GameA new wave of excitement is about to hit the world of Splinterlands as the much-anticipated expansion set, "Rebellion" gears up for its release later this year. Rebellion marks the fifth core expansion for Splinterlands, introducing 96 captivating new cards, including two exclusive promo cards available only to those who participate in the pre-sale.

With the release of Rebellion, a significant shift is imminent in the game's meta for Modern format players. Cards from the Untamed edition and its associated mini-edition, Azmure Dice, will no longer be playable in Modern format. However, the Wild format will continue to embrace all editions, offering players a broader spectrum of strategic possibilities.

Pack Cost and Promo Cards

Rebellion packs will contain five cards and come with a price tag of 5000 Credits or 5000 DEC tokens. Players also have the option to use VOUCHERS to reduce the cost by 200 tokens per pack, with a maximum limit of five VOUCHERS per pack.

The pre-sale for Rebellion packs is set to kick off on October 18th at 18:00 UTC and will remain open for 30 days or until all packs are sold. The top six purchasers during the pre-sale will have the opportunity to collaborate with the Splinterlands team to design a Legendary Summoner for a future airdrop. Additionally, the top 250 buyers will receive special titles, and even those who make a single pack purchase during the pre-sale stand a chance to obtain limited edition promo cards.

Rebellion not only brings new cards but also introduces four exciting card abilities: Armored Strike, Corrosive Ward, Flank, and Lookout. Each of these abilities adds a fresh layer of complexity to the game, creating new strategic possibilities and gameplay dynamics.Another game-changing feature is the introduction of multi-element Summoners and Summoner Tactics. Summoner Tactics are special powers that players can employ in battle after the teams have been revealed, enhancing the depth of tactical gameplay. However, this feature will be exclusive to Rebellion Summoners for the time being.

Details about the specific tactics available and the mana cost for these Summoners are still under development, promising even more surprises as the launch date approaches.

Airdrops and Staking

In a significant departure from automatic airdrops, Rebellion introduces a system where players need to stake cards and packs from the Rebellion set to become eligible for these rewards. Airdrops will occur in monthly intervals over a span of nine months. The chances of receiving an airdrop are determined by the power scores of the staked assets, with packs having a value of 150 power.The Rebellion set is set to officially release on December 5th, and with a decay timer in place, the maximum supply will decrease if fewer than 25,000 packs are sold each day, ensuring the set will sell out within a year at most. In total, 9.5 million packs of Rebellion will be available, promising an exhilarating and action-packed era for Splinterlands enthusiasts in 2023.
