If you thought that Mutant Apes was merely going to be a run-of-the-mill NFT collection, then you’re in for a surprise. Introducing, Serum City a new NFT game featuring the Mutant Ape Yacht Club NFT collection within the Yugaverse.

The game will be co-created by Farawary Studios, a game studio with Mini Royale: Nations as its flagship title, and Novel Labs, the team behind the Mutant Hounds and Mutant Cartel. The collaboration is expected to bring together the expertise of both companies.

The game is set in a dystopian universe where Bored Apes rule over Mutant Ape slaves. They were forced to form an underworld alliance known as the Mutant Cartel because they consumed the Serum. 

Serum City will feature Mutant Apes as the main characters and will expand on Mutant Cartel’s lore, which was published in comics and videos over the year.

What else to expect

Although exact gameplay details haven’t been revealed, the game will feature city-building elements and will be based on the Ethereum blockchain. ApeCoin will be the primary currency used in the game. As for the launch, the development is looking to launch Serum City by Q3 of this year.

Serum City is looking to bridge the gap between the two ape collections – Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) and Mutant Ape Yacht Club (MAYC). According to a statement, the latter isn’t regarded as valuable as the former, as evidenced by the difference in floor prices.

To play the game, you will be required to be a holder of at least one of these collections – BAYC, MAYC, or Mutant Hound NFT collections.
