Uprising, a layer 2 network guarded by major gaming companies such as SEGA, Square Enix, Bandai Namco, and Ubisoft, has launched the Genesis NFT Collection. This collection, built on the Oasys gaming blockchain, will be released via a free Ethereum mint. The minting process starts on August 14th at 10 AM EST and will unfold in multiple phases.

Details about the Uprising Genesis NFT Collection

The Uprising Genesis NFT Collection consists of 1,111 profile picture (PFP) NFTs. These NFTs are designed to be the foundation of the Uprising blockchain. Out of the total, 222 NFTs will be set aside for partners and the treasury. The collection is designed to offer long-term value, with various future utilities already hinted at.Based to the Uprising community's Discord FAQ, these NFTs will be essential to the Uprising environment.

The Uprising NFTs will serve as more than just digital collectibles. They will be used as Game Passes for upcoming Web3 games on the Uprising blockchain. The precise games that will be included have yet to be announced. Aside from early access to games, these NFTs will enable access to other special features that have yet to be released. Additional utilities include boosting a Discord leaderboard and increasing the Proof of Play Points earned by playing games on the platform. These points, along with Uprising tokens, can be used to earn rewards from Uprising and its partners.

Ways to Participate in the Free Mint

The free mint for Uprising NFTs kicks off on August 14th on Ethereum. The process begins with a Guaranteed Mint phase at 10 AM EST, followed by a Waitlist phase at 11 AM EST. If there are still NFTs left after these phases, a Public Mint will occur at 12 PM EST. To participate, ensure you have enough ETH to cover gas fees. You can check if your wallet is on the Allowlist by visiting the official mint page linked in a tweet from the Uprising team. Since June, the team has been rewarding spots on the Allowlist through events, contests, and community engagement on Discord and social media. If you missed these opportunities, the Public Mint will be your last chance to obtain one of these NFTs.

Uprising is promoted as the first gaming-focused layer 2 blockchain that features native yield. When users bridge $OAS tokens or stablecoins to the network, they can earn up to 9% APY in rewards. This yield comes from staking on the Oasys L1 network and includes additional rewards for stablecoin bridging. The Uprising blockchain is secured by the Oasys L1 network, which is supported by gaming giants like Square Enix, Ubisoft, SEGA, and Bandai Namco. These companies act as network validators, contributing to the security and stability of the network.

The project was announced in May 2024, with the official website launching in July. Uprising combines off-chain and on-chain security, offering 100% gas-free transactions and advanced chain interoperability. It leverages Oasys and the open-source Optimism L2 tech stack, along with a partnership with the data availability layer, Avail. Native staking is expected to launch in Q3 2024, but details about the team’s future plans, including the release of the Uprising token, remain undisclosed.
