New Update Brings Customization to Axie Infinity with Addition of Accessories

Lunacia’s popular Axie Infinity game has announced a major update allowing players to accessorize their virtual creatures, known as Axies. The update, which went live on January 4, allows players to buy, sell, and equip a range of accessories to their axies through the App.axie platform. These accessories will also be visible in the Origins arena, adding a new layer of customization and personalization to the game.

To celebrate the launch of the accessory feature, Axie Infinity is hosting the #AxieLookBook challenge on Twitter. Players are invited to upload a picture of their accessorized Axie, along with its unique ID and the player’s Ronin address, and a description of their thought process when selecting accessories. Entries will be judged by a panel from Sky Mavis, the engineering team behind Axie Infinity, and members of the community. The competition is open to players worldwide and runs until January 10, with prizes including early ID accessories and AXS cryptocurrency.

The addition of accessories to Axie Infinity is an important step towards strengthening the emotional connection between players and their Axies. In a blog post announcing the update, the team behind the game said, “Accessories are an important step towards fortifying the emotional connection between you and your Axies.”

To equip accessories to an Axie, players simply need to visit their App.axie inventory, hover over the Axie they wish to accessorize, click “Manage Axie,” and then select “Equip” to assign accessories to one of six possible slots. It’s worth noting that each accessory can only be worn on one Axie at a time, and will not transfer with the Axie if it is sold.

The accessory update and #AxieLookBook challenge are just the latest in a series of exciting updates and events from Axie Infinity.
