Axie Infinity: Origins has announced the launch of its second season on its blog post, which comes with a host of new features and updates. The new season, which will last for 42 days, features updates to Runes, Charms and cards, as well as the introduction of the new leaderboard system called Eras.

Eras, a new ranking system that awards players with a total of 112,000 AXS across the full season, is one of the major changes in Season 2. Eras encourage a dynamic meta through season-long, gradual Rune and Charm rarity unlocks. For instance, only common and rare Runes and Charms will be usable for crafting from Day 0 to Day 7 during the Rare Era. The top players will get the first AXS leaderboard award at the end of the Rare Era.

The season is also shorter than Season 1, lasting for 42 days, and leaderboard payouts will happen four times throughout the season, rather than just once at the end. Additionally, rewards and level-ups will happen much faster than before. When combined with the new Eras system, this generates a very strong momentum for players looking for rewards.

Daily Login Bonus

The crafting level-up path and prizes have been updated for the new season, and a daily login bonus system has been added. Crafting Level-Ups should proceed considerably more quickly for players, as there are 100 levels overall as opposed to 50 levels from Season 1.

The game mechanics have also undergone several changes. Class Purity and Neutral charms can now be equipped with mixed Potential Points as the Class Potential Points now scale linearly with Class Purity. A new Game Mechanic called Energy Burst has also been added, along with a rework of the Blood Moon and changes to the [Return] mechanic and [Limit] mechanic. The Base HP of NFT axies has also been increased from 320 to 400.

All in all, Season 2 promises to be an exciting and engaging experience for Axie Infinity players, with a host of new features and updates. The shorter, faster-paced season and the new Eras system will keep gameplay feeling fresh and the new card effects and game mechanics will add a new dimension to the game.
