Undead Citadel Arrives on PS VR2 This June

Undead Citadel, the long-awaited VR action game from Dark Curry, is finally coming to PlayStation VR2 (PS VR2) on June 26, 2025. The game brings players into a brutal medieval world full of zombies, swords, and physics-driven combat. It’s been designed from the ground up for virtual reality. This version makes full use of the PS VR2 hardware to deliver intense, hands-on melee battles.

If you’ve been waiting for a VR game that lets you swing heavy weapons and fight off hordes of undead, this is your chance. The developers didn’t just port the game over. They built it for VR first, making sure every movement feels natural and grounded.

The game throws players into a world ruined by plague and crawling with the undead. You play as a lone warrior trapped in the ruins of a cursed stronghold. Every weapon swing or shield block tracks exactly with your hand movements. No lag. No floaty animations. It’s all physics-based, meaning weapons feel heavy and react the way you’d expect in real life.

You’ll get access to more than 75 different weapons. Swords, axes, war hammers, bows — you name it. Each one feels different, making you think about which fits your fighting style. Want to go fast with light blades? Or crush enemies with something bigger? It’s your call.

A Full Campaign and Endless Horde Battles

This isn’t just a random fight simulator. Undead Citadel also comes with a full story campaign. You’ll explore detailed medieval environments, solve puzzles, and uncover bits of lore as you go. Every fight rewards players who time their strikes well and keep good positioning. Button mashing won’t help here. Every move needs thought.

There’s also a Horde Mode. If you just want to test yourself against endless waves of enemies, it’s perfect for that. Score-chasers will love trying to beat their best runs. On top of that, you can visit the Armory, where you can test any weapon in a sandbox environment.

Potions add extra strategy. Some slow down time, some freeze enemies, and others give you short bursts of strength. You can save them for big moments or experiment to find clever ways to stay alive longer.

Built for VR, Better on PS VR2

Undead Citadel runs smoothly on PS VR2 at 90Hz. The controls respond quickly, making combat feel sharp. The adaptive triggers in the PS VR2 controllers add weight to each action. Pulling back a bow or swinging a sword gives your fingers real resistance, selling the experience even more.

Headset haptics give gentle feedback when you get hit or interact with the environment. It’s not distracting, but it adds that small, extra layer of immersion. It all comes together to create a grounded combat system that feels fully connected to your actions.

According to Dark Curry co-founder Daniel Solís, the whole project started with one goal — to create a VR game where every hit matters. That’s why they built their own physics system for combat. No gimmicks. No random button combos. Just you, your blade, and a crowd of undead trying to take you down.

PS VR2 gets the best version of the game thanks to the adaptive triggers and headset haptics. It’s a simple idea done with care: kill zombies, survive, and enjoy every second of it.

Undead Citadel launches June 26 on the PlayStation Store for $29.99. If you’ve been waiting for a VR game that feels heavy, brutal, and fully built around melee combat, this could be your next favorite. Wishlist it now and get ready for battle.
