The Sandbox x Warner Music Group releases Game Jam Event

Just now, The Sandbox announces its partnership with American multinational record label, Warner Music Group. The team went over to Twitter to announce the news. The Sandbox users are to create a music-themed experience that will include up to 10 winners.

Participants will be required to craft new experiences using the Game Maker Software. This software allows people to create 3D games for free without the use of code. It utilizes various models made by the community to potentially create vibrant worlds for players to jump into freely.

Warner Music Group Corp. Is considered one of the “big three” recording companies in the global music industry. It owns some of the largest labels in the world such as Warner Records, Reprise Records, Elektra Records, and more.

The Game Jam begins on December 12th, 2022 in which participants have until January 22nd, 2023 at 3 pm UTC to submit their entry. The team has also introduced various rules and guidelines to ensure fair and creative competition.

The team prohibits using direct copies of any existing experience and spamming low-quality experiences to fit into the 4th - 10th places. Judging of the coming music-themed worlds will be done by The Sandbox’s staff and Warner Music Group staff.

Prizes will cost up to 30,000 SAND and will be split amongst the top entries. Each winner will receive a set amount of $SAND depending on how high they place. The prizes are as follows:

  • 1st place: 12,000 SAND
  • 2nd place: 7,000 SAND
  • 3rd place: 4,000 SAND
  • 4th to 10th place: 1,000 SAND each

$SAND is currently priced at 0.58 USD. You could get roughly 6,900 USD if you managed to end up in the first place.

The Sandbox is an interactive gaming experience that allows players to create immersive adventures while earning money utilizing in-game tokens. It’s similar to games such as Roblox and Minecraft.

Based on the Ethereum blockchain, The Sandbox allows players to create, buy, and trade assets in the form of non-fungible tokens, allowing payers to receive ownership of their in-game assets.
