The virtual metaverse, The Sandbox, is ringing in the holiday season with the VoxEdit Christmas Contest, offering participants a chance to showcase their creativity and win a share of the enticing 20k $SAND prize pool. This voxel-based metaverse has become a hub for innovative events, and the Christmas contest is no exception.

The VoxEdit Christmas contest invites participants to craft fully animated Christmas assets using the VoxEdit software. The possibilities are vast, ranging from cheerful snowmen to mischievous elves—anything that captures the essence of Christmas. Submissions opened on November 29th and will run until December 20th, with results scheduled for announcement on January 13th, 2024. Participants are encouraged to submit multiple entries, with voting conducted by The Sandbox team.

Grading Creativity: Judging Criteria and Rewards

Submitted entries will be evaluated based on six criteria: creativity, usability, optimization, aesthetics, quality of animation, and level of complexity. Each criterion is scored on a scale from 1 to 5, providing a comprehensive assessment of the assets created. This meticulous evaluation ensures that winning entries truly stand out in the virtual holiday landscape.

The contest features two categories—the Regular Category and the Beginner Category—with a total of 20k $SAND tokens up for grabs. The Regular Category's top 10 submissions will share 15k $SAND, while the Beginner Category's top 10 entries will split the remaining 5k tokens. Prizes vary, with the Regular Category's winning submission receiving 6000 $SAND tokens, followed by descending rewards for the subsequent places. In the Beginner Category, prizes range from 1500 $SAND for the first place to 250 $SAND for the 4th to 10th spots.

All prizes will be distributed on the Polygon network, but to be eligible for the top three prizes, participants must undergo KYC verification or be verified creators. Verified creators are individuals with a studio linked to a GMF (Game Maker Fund) account or those who have previously participated in five contests, achieving a top-10 finish in at least one.

Final Thoughts

The VoxEdit Christmas Contest by The Sandbox not only adds a festive touch to the metaverse but also provides a platform for creators to showcase their skills and win attractive rewards. As the holiday spirit permeates the virtual realm, participants eagerly craft enchanting Christmas assets, vying for a coveted spot among the winners and a share of the impressive $SAND prize pool.
