The Super Champs Protocol Foundation has unveiled the Super Champs Chain, a new layer 3 network designed specifically for gaming. This chain, built on Coinbase's Base blockchain, is part of the web3 gaming ecosystem. Its purpose is to enhance the anime-inspired web3 franchise, Super Champs, making it the "first truly scalable web3 gaming franchise." The chain uses Arbitrum's rollup stack for fast transactions and low costs, ensuring a gas-free gameplay experience. Its architecture allows it to handle more complex processes while scaling horizontally with Joyride Games’ omnichain network, providing security through the Ethereum network.

Omar Siddiqui, Founder and CEO of Joyride Games, shared his excitement about the launch. He highlighted the growing popularity of Super Champs on TikTok and YouTube. Siddiqui expressed enthusiasm for seeing Super Champs games thrive with access to top-tier infrastructure. He noted that this launch aligns with their vision of introducing a new web3 paradigm for game franchises, a vision that is now becoming a reality.

Before launching the layer 3 network, Super Champs was already a key player in the web3 gaming scene on Base. The two mobile games, Bullet League and Racket Rampage, are part of the ecosystem, along with the quest-based airdrop platform. These games, which have collectively reached 5 million installs, represent 10% of Base’s daily active users. The new network is expected to push Super Champs into the "Top 5 gaming blockchains" based on current activity. Additionally, Season 1 of the Super Champs play-to-airdrop campaign, which started in June, continues to engage players by offering $CHAMP tokens for completing quests. The platform boasts over 125k daily on-chain active users and 700k monthly users. Animated storytelling on social media has garnered more than 10 million views and 600k subscribers across YouTube and TikTok.

The Super Champs BuilderKit

To support game developers, the Foundation has introduced BuilderKit, a collection of mobile-optimized tools for game development, live operations, and growth. These tools are designed for web3 games under the Super Champs IP, providing access to a thriving community of players and creators. BuilderKit includes web3 features such as wallets and NFT integrations, along with web2 capabilities like analytics, tournaments, and AB testing. It combines the best of both worlds to help developers create engaging blockchain games. Currently, the BuilderKit supports 500k players and has facilitated over 7 million transactions. He noted that the web3 gaming space is still emerging, and Super Champs has already made significant progress. The new announcement makes it easier for developers to build within the Super Champs ecosystem, advancing the goal of decentralization and mainstream adoption of web3 experiences. Rupp also mentioned the support from investors, including Coinbase Ventures, Animoca, OpenSea, Solana Ventures, and others, which has helped Joyride Games raise $30 million for this milestone.
