STEPN Goes all out for Holiday Season with x2 GST Earnings and Exclusive Sneakers

The popular mobile fitness and move-to-earn app STEPN is ending the year with a series of special holiday events for its users. The first event, which runs from December 16th to January 1st, will see users earn twice the usual amount of GST, the app’s in-platform currency, whenever they go for a STEPN workout.

This is a great opportunity for STEPN users to earn even more GST, which can be used to purchase a range of items on the app’s marketplace, including exclusive sneakers, physical merch, and even NFTs. The STEPN team has said that the usual GST caps will apply during the event period, so users will not be able to earn an unlimited amount of GST. However, the x2 earning rate will still provide a significant boost for those who are able to take advantage of it.

The second event, also running from December 16th to January 1st, will give users a chance (not guaranteed) to produce one of five exclusive sneakers with special skins, each representing one of the letters in the word “STEPN.”

For users who are able to obtain all five of these special sneakers, there will be two further events. The first runs from December 16th to December 24th, and allows users to merge their “STEPN” sneakers to receive a limited edition Christmas sock sneaker skin (guaranteed). A snapshot of all holders of this skin will be taken on December 24th, and those who are in the snapshot will be eligible for a range of gifts, including GST and GMT, MOOAR membership, STEPN physical merch, and future NFTs.

The second event runs from December 24th to January 1st, and allows users to merge their “STEPN” sneakers to receive a limited edition New Year’s sneaker skin (guaranteed). A snapshot of all holders of this skin will be taken on January 1st, and those who are in the snapshot will be eligible for the same range of gifts as those who are in the Christmas snapshot.

The STEPN team has also released a FAQ addressing any questions users may have about the events. The usual GST caps will apply during the event period, and sneakers of all rarities are eligible for a chance to receive a STEPN sneaker skin from the minting process. Normal enhancement mechanics will apply for the special sneakers, and users will be able to choose between getting a rainbow sneaker or the event sneaker skin before enhancing. The STEPN sneaker skins will be tradable on the app’s marketplace.

In a blog post announcing the events, the STEPN team thanked its users for their support throughout the year, and said they were looking forward to continuing to build alongside “one of the best communities in Web3.”
