Razer has partnered with World, the developers of World ID, to tackle AI-driven bots in online games. The collaboration introduces “Razer ID verified by World ID,” a system ensuring players are real humans. The first game to integrate this is TOKYO BEAST, set in 2124, where humans coexist with androids. With World ID, certain game modes will be accessible only to verified human players, maintaining fair competition.
The Impact of Bots on Online Gaming
AI-driven bots have significantly affected online gaming. A survey cited by Razer shows 87% of U.S. gamers want to know if they are competing against bots. Additionally, 59% encounter bots regularly, while 74% feel bots negatively impact their experience. About 18% have stopped playing certain games due to excessive bot interference.
Razer’s Chief Corporate Officer, Wei-Pin Choo, stresses that a verified gaming community is essential for fair play. Developers need tools to ensure trusted, human-only experiences. World ID provides a reliable method to keep gaming environments competitive and enjoyable.

About TOKYO BEAST
TOKYO BEAST blends blockchain technology with a win-loss prediction system. Set in a futuristic Tokyo, humans live comfortably alongside replicant androids. The game’s core competition, "XENO-karate," is a high-stakes tournament where androids, called "BEAST," fight for supremacy.
Players can compete or spectate. Competitors form teams of four BEAST androids to battle in the tournament. Spectators predict weekend championship results, earning in-game rewards like jewels and virtual currency for accurate guesses. The mix of strategy and prediction enhances engagement.
World ID, developed by Sam Altman and Alex Blania, verifies users while maintaining anonymity. Unlike traditional identity systems, it confirms uniqueness without collecting personal data. This helps developers implement anti-bot measures without compromising privacy.

Beyond fair play, World ID reduces online harassment, simplifies login processes, and strengthens in-game economies by ensuring legitimate transactions. Verified users also access Razer Gold, a payment system for in-game purchases.
Tiago Sada, Chief Product Officer at Tools for Humanity, emphasizes that World ID differentiates human and AI interactions while protecting privacy. A survey shows 75% of gamers who play over 10 hours weekly support biometric verification, while nearly 60% believe it's essential to know if they’re playing against a human or AI.
The verification tool is available in 23 countries, including the U.S., Japan, Germany, Singapore, and South Korea. Players use their Razer ID to access the World App and create a World ID for verification.
As AI and web3 technologies evolve, Razer and World see their collaboration as a step toward a secure gaming landscape. With AI bots increasing and fair play concerns growing, they aim to set a new standard for identity verification, especially as digital ownership and real-money economies expand.
This initiative also marks Razer’s expansion into gaming security and payment solutions. While known for gaming hardware and software, the company is investing in infrastructure-level solutions. More games will integrate “Razer ID verified by World ID,” with TOKYO BEAST being the first. Both Razer and World see this as the start of a broader effort to prioritize human-first experiences in gaming.
