Onchain Heroes Introduces the Endgame Dungeon
Onchain Heroes has launched the Endgame Dungeon as the second phase of Season 1. This phase brings new challenges and higher rewards. Players who have spent weeks leveling up their heroes can now enter intense battles against powerful dungeon bosses. By staking their NFT heroes and $HERO tokens, they have the chance to earn Gacha Tokens, leaderboard rewards, and a share of the Season 1 prize pool. However, losing a battle means heroes are locked until the season ends.
An Ethereum Layer 2 network called the Abstract Chain serves as the foundation for Onchain Heroes, a fully on-chain idle role-playing game. Unlike many other web3 games, every battle, transaction, and reward is recorded on-chain. This ensures players have full ownership of their in-game assets. Access to Onchain Heroes is currently limited to Genesis Hero NFT holders. These gamers can engage in combat and win prizes by playing strategically.
The $HERO token, a multipurpose ERC-20 utility token, is the focal point of the game. In-game cosmetics, hero upgrades, exclusive awards, and battle and dungeon entry fees are all paid for using $HERO. By finishing tasks, fighting, and placing on the leaderboard, players can win tokens. Players are encouraged to plan their gaming and optimize their profits via the competitive framework.
Season 1 Structure and Timeline
Season 1 of Onchain Heroes has two phases. The first phase, the Leveling Game, took place from February 20 to March 3. During this phase, players strengthened their heroes and accumulated $HERO to prepare for the Endgame. The second phase, the Endgame Dungeon, started on March 3 and will continue until March 12. Only heroes that have reached level 10 or higher can enter the Endgame Dungeon. They will face increasingly difficult battles with the potential for substantial rewards. With one week left, players must decide whether to take risks for greater rewards or play it safe.

The Endgame Dungeon brings high-stakes battles. Players must stake both their NFT heroes and $HERO tokens before facing dungeon bosses. Entry requires a hero level of at least 10 and an entry fee paid in $HERO. Once staked, a hero remains locked for at least 12 hours. Players must manually unstake their heroes after battle to claim rewards. If a hero is defeated, it stays locked in the Endgame contract until the season ends. This prevents it from being used, transferred, or sold. Each dungeon attempt carries risks, making strategic decision-making crucial.
The Endgame Dungeon features three dungeon bosses. Each has unique challenges and requires different levels of $HERO investment.
- Stone Golem (Level 10+): High defense, slow but powerful attacks.
- Armored Slime (Level 15+): Adapts its weaknesses, forcing players to adjust their strategies.
- Shiitake Samurai (Level 20+): Fast and unpredictable, making battles more challenging.
As the season progresses, bosses evolve, changing their attack patterns and increasing battle complexity. Players must stay alert and adapt to these changes.
Players who win battles earn Gacha Tokens, which are ERC-1155 NFTs. These will be redeemable in Season 2 for in-game items like weapons, pets, and cosmetics. There are four types of Gacha Tokens:
- Bronze: Grants basic equipment.
- Silver: Provides mid-tier weapons and armor.
- Gold: Offers rare items and pets.
- Rainbow: Unlocks ultra-rare weapons and legendary NFTs.
These tokens will play a key role in future gameplay, allowing players to acquire stronger gear for upcoming challenges.
The leaderboard system adds another layer of competition. At the end of Season 1, 50% of all $HERO tokens spent will be redistributed among the highest-ranked players. The remaining 50% will be permanently burned. The top three players will also receive Genesis Rings, exclusive NFTs with special in-game perks.

Players earn leaderboard points through various activities, including minting heroes, claiming $HERO rewards, and engaging in different types of training. Those using the Abstract Global Wallet (AGW) receive weekly XP rewards, helping them progress faster in the game.
One of the most unique aspects of the Endgame Dungeon is its evolving nature. Bosses change their attack patterns, weaknesses, and rewards over time. Players must constantly adjust their strategies. The game uses Proof of Play’s Verifiable Random Function (VRF) technology to ensure fairness in combat outcomes. This prevents predictability and adds an element of uncertainty to battles.
Final Thoughts
With Season 1 ending on March 12, players have limited time to earn rewards and climb the leaderboard. After the season ends, the Gacha House will open. Players can redeem their Gacha Tokens for powerful items that will impact gameplay in Season 2. As the game evolves, new challenges, rewards, and developments will continue to expand the Onchain Heroes experience.
