Mighty Bear Games, the studio behind Mighty Action Heroes, is gearing up for an early access playtest on March 17th, along with several new features cooked up for the community.

Initially planned for February, the team decided to reschedule for March to avoid burnout and properly align their vision. The playtest is released alongside planned in-game content, shaping their game to prioritize fun and gaming over anything else.

Gamers can look forward to three new features: 

  • New hero abilities
  • The first gadget introduced
  •  All-new MightyNet Profile 

New Ability

The two new hero abilities are Dodge Roll and Charge. The Dodge Roll allows players to avoid enemy fire while granting invulnerability during the animation. Meanwhile, the Charge is a lunge forward in a straight line that deals damage to opponents.

Granting new movement abilities to the game adds a more sophisticated layer of gameplay, allowing users to outsmart opponents or engage in fights more aggressively.

New Gadget

The new gadget introduced are grenades and they pack a real punch. Players can throw grenades all day long provided they wait for their cooldown. Use this to punish campers who wait around corners all day!

The team has also teased that grenade skins and designs will be available in the future. Sounds promising.

New Profile

Finally, the MightyNet Profile has been introduced, allowing players to connect their Twitter and Discord accounts. It also contains an option that lets you choose a nickname that can be altered every week.

The profile sports a semi-retro style( like the 2000s or 90s-ish) that matches the game’s fun and wacky aesthetic.
