Understanding Node Power and Its Role in the LORDCHAIN Mainnet

MetaKing Studios has launched the Orb Lock event for Blocklords Dynasty, their Base-powered companion game. The event started on August 21st and will run until October 23rd. The main goal is to collect Node Power (NP) by locking Orbs. These Orbs come in three types: Mythic, Legendary, and Epic. Each type generates a different amount of Node Power. Node Power is crucial for future participation in the LORDCHAIN mainnet, the studio’s upcoming network for their gaming ecosystem.

Importance of Node Power

In order to purchase Node Tiers, take part in network transaction validation, and access special node subscription events, Node Power is required.  Higher Node Tiers offer more rewards and benefits, especially for those locking $LRDS tokens. However, the specific amount of Node Power required to unlock certain tiers is still unknown.

How the Locking Works

There are three locking options based on the type of Orb:

• Mythic Orb: 13 weeks at Lock 1 = 15 NP
• Legendary Orb: 13-week lock 1 = 2 NP
• Epic Orbs: 13 weeks at lock 2 = 1 NP

Players can buy Orbs using ETH on Base through a browser-based dApp. The process involves creating an account with an email address or Google sign-in, and the game will generate a wallet using Privy. After selecting an Orb from the market, players can choose how to send ETH to their wallet, including using Coinbase Pay if they have a Coinbase account.

There are six types of Orbs in the game, but only three are eligible for this event. As of now, the cheapest Epic Orb costs 0.055 ETH, but you need two of them to lock. Only three Epic Orbs are currently listed, with the second cheapest priced at 0.073999 ETH. A single Legendary Orb costs at least 0.175 ETH, while a Mythic Orb may cost around 0.97 ETH. Previously, players could get Orbs through Dynasty Chests or by fusing lower-quality Orbs, but those events ended on August 6th. Now, Orbs can only be purchased from other players, and with limited quantities available, listings may be scarce.

Node Power is vital for the upcoming LORDCHAIN mainnet. The more Node Power you accumulate, the greater your rewards and privileges will be as you unlock higher Node Tiers. This ongoing 13-week event is a key opportunity for the web3 community to gather Node Power.
