Immutable has officially launched the beta for its much-anticipated Immutable Passport, with co-founder Robbie Ferguson taking to Twitter to share the news.
The new platform seeks to provide a frictionless L2 scaling solution, offering massive scalability and a secure non-custodial Passport wallet that will help onboard mainstream gamers into the NFT gaming world. Immutable Passport was first revealed 3 months ago and has been eagerly awaited by gamers and industry insiders alike.
One of the most significant product releases in Immutable's history, Immutable Passport aims to reduce the cost of installation by 10 to 20 times without compromising self-custody. It offers gamers a single sign-up solution that grants access to numerous games, making it a game-changer for the NFT gaming industry.
Ferguson also shared a video showcasing the fast sign-up process required to access Immutable Passport, highlighting its ease of use. The beta version of Immutable Passport will be tested by more users, with additional features expected to roll out over time.
One of NFT Gaming’s biggest hurdles to mass adoption has been the friction to easily access NFT games. Create a wallet, learn the token and its tokenomics - it’s a lot to swallow for a gamer that’s fresh off traditional games. The Immutable Passport seeks to address this problem, marking a product that could serve as a catalyst to boosting NFT gaming mass adoption.
Ease of access and faster transaction speed - the passport offers nothing but benefits for the average Web3 gamer but especially for the newly onboarding web2 gamers coming into the space. The launch of Immutable Passport is an exciting development for the NFT gaming industry and marks an important step forward in its growth and development.
