Official Launch Date Announced
Illuvium has revealed the official launch date for its much-anticipated blockchain game. The game is set to go live on July 25th, promising an immersive experience for all players. This announcement follows a series of successful play-to-airdrop campaigns, starting with Private Beta 4 on April 30th and continuing with the open beta testnet, which began on May 28th.
The development team has decided to delay the release slightly to add several new features. One of the highlights is the Arena mode, which will introduce Gauntlet Mode and a new weapons system. Overworld mode will bring in combat, NPC interactions, economy adjustments, character customization, and a revamped Forge user experience. Zero mode will see new missions and support for iOS/Play Store, PC/Mac, complete with a mobile-friendly interface. Additionally, there will be improvements to the backend and security, including maintenance capabilities that allow for game pauses.
Development Goals and Challenges
Not all features might be ready by the launch date, but the team is committed to including as many as possible. They believe that even a few of these additions will significantly enhance the gaming experience. The extra time taken will also help optimize the game’s economy and ensure robust backend systems to handle the expected load.
