Illuvium, the popular blockchain gaming company, has announced the launch date for the first alpha of its latest game, Illuvium: Zero. The alpha, which is set to begin on January 6th and is expected to last 6–8 weeks, is a bug-fixing and adjustment phase, during which players will be able to test out the game and provide feedback to the developers.

What is Illuvium Zero?

Illuvium: Zero is a land-owning and management game that allows players to build and manage their own base, extracting resources and creating blueprints as they go. The game features three types of elements and three types of fuel resources, with plots of land varying in the number of resource sites they contain based on their rarity. Some plots also feature landmarks that affect resource production.

To participate in the alpha, players must own at least one plot of land. These can be purchased on the Illuvidex market, the official Illuvium marketplace, with the current floor price for land plots standing at around $500. It’s worth noting that free-to-play land plots will not be available during the alpha testing phase, but will be implemented in a future release. These free-to-play plots are not connected to the blockchain and players will not be able to transfer anything from them to other games.

In Illuvium: Zero, players have a range of strategic options to choose from, including resource management and researching Illuvials for blueprints. The game will offer a free-to-play option at launch, but players without land will not be able to extract tokens or NFTs from the game. However, Illuvium has stated that it plans to allow players to mint actual NFTs during the second alpha, giving players who become experts at the game during the first alpha a head start on their competitors.

Illuvium’s three-game series

Illuvium: Zero is the third part of a three-game series, with the first two games being the Overworld beta and Arena. The recent launch of the Overworld beta has already generated a lot of excitement among players, and the announcement of the Illuvium: Zero alpha is sure to keep them hyped. This is a quick turnaround for an alpha gameplay release, as the Illuvium land sale was only a little over six months ago.

Wrapping up

The launch of Illuvium: Zero alpha is a highly anticipated event in the world of blockchain gaming. Players are sure to enjoy the opportunity to test out the game and provide feedback to the developers, and the prospect of being able to mint actual NFTs in the second alpha is sure to add an extra layer of excitement. With only 100,000 plots of land available, players will want to act quickly if they want to secure their spot in the alpha.
