Luxury fashion brand Gucci has announced a partnership with Yuga Labs, the company behind iconic projects such as Otherside, Dookey Dash, Mutant Ape, and Bored Ape Yacht Club NFT collection.
The announcement was made via Twitter, with an image featuring a Gucci bottle rendered with visuals from the Otherside metaverse game. Specifically, it featured a Bored Ape hand holding a bottle with logos from both companies.
While only teasers have been revealed so far, this collaboration is expected to be a game-changer for both brands. Specifically, for metaverse-driven Yuga Labs.
Just recently, the company conducted its Second Trip metaverse experience. Inside experience players were able to engage in team-based mini-games and try out new mechanics and skins as well as teases for their next adventure.

The collaboration could either lead to an exclusive NFT collection or a cosmetic addition to wearable skins in The Otherside Metaverse game. At this point, it could only be speculation but it will likely lead to exciting things.
Luxury X Metaverse
Luxury brands have been stepping into the metaverse in recent years, with examples such as Lamborghini's collaboration with VeVe NFT marketplace and Gucci’s partnership with The Sandbox, a creation-based metaverse game. Other collaborations are also notable such as Porsche launching its own NFT collection.

It's palpable that luxury brands are not only going to receive additional attention to their brands but will also allow their clients to have digitally-owned cosmetics or figures in the virtual world.
With NFT games, cosmetics play a crucial role in gamers’ enjoyment of the game, allowing players to show off their personalized style and their commitment to brands.
Final Thoughts
Yuga Labs is increasingly becoming a larger part of the crypto industry. With their NFT games gaining prominence for their enjoyment and earning prospects, Gucci’s partnership will likely lead to an exciting metaverse collaboration for an experience or in-game cosmetics featuring the iconic luxury brand.
