Fableborne’s New Playtest: Sorcery Unfolds

Pixion Games has announced a new preview playtest for Fableborne, their free-to-play mobile ARPG and strategy hybrid. This playtest, titled “Sorcery Unfolds,” brings significant updates, and non-NFT holders still have time to sign up for a chance to join. With new campaign levels, characters, and gameplay mechanics, this playtest offers an exciting preview of what’s to come.

The latest playtest introduces major content updates powered by Ronin. Players can explore 60 new campaign levels, face new challenges, and unlock new characters. The update also introduces a fresh gameplay feature called Ability Tomes, allowing for deeper customization of character abilities. Ability Tomes serve as modifiers that grant characters additional skills. The preview highlights an example with Glint’s Tome, which allows players to replace one of their existing abilities with Solar Flare. This system gives players more flexibility in how they approach battles, letting them customize heroes based on their strategy.

The update also brings a powerful new character: the Sorceress. She is an Elite Unit specializing in dark magic, adding more depth to defensive playstyles. According to official sources, the Sorceress has three abilities: Homing Projectiles, Leeching/Dark Bolt, and Summon Skeletons. Homing Projectiles automatically seek out enemies. Leeching/Dark Bolt restores health by draining enemies upon impact. Summon Skeletons creates four skeletal minions to fight alongside her, providing extra protection in battle.

These additions expand the game’s strategic depth, giving players new ways to build and experiment with their teams. The playtest will allow the developers to gather player feedback before the full release of this content in a future update.

How to Join the Fableborne Preview Playtest

The playtest runs from March 26th at 12 PM UTC to March 30th at 12 PM UTC. There are two ways to secure a spot in the event.

NFT holders receive guaranteed access. Those who own a Primordial NFT or Kingdom NFT can join the playtest without needing to sign up. To gain entry, holders must verify their role in the official Fableborne Discord server. Once verified, they will be able to access a private sign-up link that grants them direct participation in the playtest.

Non-NFT holders still have a chance to participate by entering the Alphabot raffle linked in the official announcement. More than 600 players have already signed up, and the public registration window will close soon. The application process is straightforward. Participants must answer two questions: one requesting their Play Store email if they play on Android, and another asking for their TestFlight App email if they play on iOS. Registration with Alphabot is required to confirm participation.

For those interested in becoming an NFT holder, Primordial NFTs are available on OpenSea for 0.46 ETH. Kingdom NFTs were minted earlier this year and are now available for purchase on the Ronin Market for 55 $RON at the current floor price. Acquiring an NFT ensures guaranteed access to future playtests and other in-game benefits.

Fableborne has not disclosed how many non-NFT holders will be selected for the playtest. Given that this event primarily caters to NFT holders, only a small number of non-NFT participants will likely be accepted. Players who want to improve their chances of being selected should register as soon as possible before the signup period ends.

It is also important to note that this playtest is not Season 4 but rather an exclusive opportunity for players to test new content and provide feedback. Developers will use the gathered data to refine gameplay mechanics, balance new abilities, and ensure an optimized experience for future updates.
