Double Jump.Tokyo and Ubisoft have teamed to encourage the adoption of web3 games worldwide. They're introducing NFTs to players globally through Champions Tactics: Grimoria Chronicles, a brand-new platform. In the NFT scene, Ubisoft is not a newcomer. Back in 2021, they introduced Quartz, an NFT-based platform but it immediately crashed. Then they worked with Immutable to give NFTs another go but nothing significant came of that endeavor. Ubisoft is currently attempting a third time in the hopes of achieving better outcomes.

A Statement from Double Jump.Tokyo

Hironobu Ueno, CEO of Double Jump.Tokyo, expressed excitement about the partnership with Ubisoft. He sees this collaboration as a major milestone for Double Jump.Tokyo. They are eager to explore the potential of web3 and digital ownership in gaming alongside Ubisoft. Ueno believes that working with a renowned industry leader like Ubisoft will help them deliver exceptional games and promote web3 gaming technology worldwide.Source: X
Champion Tactics was first unveiled by Ubisoft last year, but it has been largely quiet since. 9,999 "Warlords" NFTs were made available on the Ethereum blockchain around the end of 2023. The Champions, a playable character set, would soon be released and these NFTs which were free to mint, functioned as "tickets."

What’s Next for Players?

Thanks to Double Jump.Tokyo’s Oasys Layer 2 HOME Verse blockchain, players can mint three Champions without any charge. This offer starts on July 18. Players need three Champions in a squad to compete against others. Each Champion minted will have a unique look and a variety of abilities. This free minting offer is a significant part of Ubisoft’s strategy to draw players into the web3 gaming world.

Ubisoft’s latest effort to push NFTs involves a strategic partnership with Double Jump.Tokyo and the new game, Champions Tactics: Grimoria Chronicles. Despite previous failures, Ubisoft hopes that this third attempt will finally succeed in the world of web3 gaming. By offering free NFT minting and unique in-game assets, they aim to attract gamers and promote the adoption of web3 technology.
