Closed Playtest 2: What’s Happening

Cross The Ages is opening the second Closed Playtest for Arise, its action RPG, from July 23 to 30. This new round brings updated content, including five new weapons, rule changes, and a $25,000 prize pool split between two leaderboards. Players with a Mint Pass or part of the Moca fam can join. You’ll dive into dungeons, collect loot, and test new mechanics in co-op or solo runs.

This test adds five weapons, all unlocked by using in-game crystals. You earn crystals by clearing dungeons. The higher your key level, the better your rewards. Each crystal gives you a random weapon tier. Tier 7 weapons are now available early, making it easier for everyone to explore advanced gear right away.

This round features two leaderboards. One is for Mint Pass holders marked with a “CTA” tag. The other is for Moca players tagged “MOCA.” All players can team up, but rewards are sent based on the group’s make-up. If a group ranks high on both boards, rewards go to the matching users. Each board offers $12,500 in CTA tokens. Winners get paid directly to their wallets, based on the average token price during the test. Tokens will be sent within two weeks after the event ends.

Group Play Brings Bigger Rewards

Co-op is strongly encouraged. You can team up with up to four players. This helps you climb key levels faster. Matchmaking is disabled, so you’ll need to form teams manually in the official Discord server. Rewards are group-based. If your team wins a prize, everyone splits it. You can join multiple groups and win rewards more than once, as long as your teams qualify.

If you complete a level 10 dungeon, you’ll earn a Founder's Coin. This is a special item you can use in the Early Access phase. It can’t be used now but will unlock new items later in the Founder’s Shop.

The top 200 players on each leaderboard will win prizes. Rank 1 gets $2,500. Lower ranks get less, with players in ranks 101–200 receiving $15 each. This keeps the prize pool wide and competitive.

You’ll need an access code tied to a verified account. For Mint Pass holders, a snapshot was taken on July 21. Codes were emailed based on the account with the highest level. Moca members can get their code from the MOCAVERSE site. Once you have your code, download Arise on the Epic Games Store. Launch the game, enter the code, and start your run.

The loop is simple. Enter a dungeon, clear it, earn crystals, unlock gear, then run again. Faster clears raise your key level. Slower ones drop it. Stronger weapons and better talent upgrades help you climb deeper into the dungeon system.

Right now, the game is only playable on Epic Games. But the Steam page is now live. It won’t support gameplay yet, but you can wishlist it and follow updates. This increases awareness before the 2025 full release.

The game is compatible with 64-bit Windows 10. A minimum of an Intel i5-8400, 16 GB of RAM, and a GTX 1060 are required. An i7-9700 and RTX 3080 are suggested for more fluid gameplay. Display problems may arise with AMD RX 5700 cards. The group is trying to find a solution. In addition, the game needs a suitable sound card, 20 GB of free space, and DirectX 12. The text is accessible in both French and English. Voice audio is not yet available. Players in South Korea and China are unable to access this test due to platform limitations.

Phase 1 occurred from May 28 until June 2. There was only one dungeon, one weapon, and one hero. Customization options were small. Still, the gameplay loop worked well. Players earned crystals and unlocked the Tier 7 Mythical Fire Weapon. That phase tested servers, combat, and progression. It also gave players access to a talent board and the Artellium map. Anyone who reached level 10 got a Founder's Coin—just like this round.

Arise is a multiplayer action RPG using Unreal Engine 5. This test adds more depth to combat and gear. New weapons, co-op runs, and leaderboards make the playtest feel more complete. It’s a solid next step before Early Access. If you’re joining again or playing for the first time, this session will give you a better look at what Arise has to offer.
