Chicken Derby, the popular chicken racing simulation on the Polygon network, is introducing a revamped game economy. Initially planning a single BAWK token, recent blog posts unveil a more sophisticated approach with the inclusion of a second token, JEWEL. This strategic shift aims to offer a richer experience for players and foster growth within the user base.

Dual-Token Dynamics: BAWK and JEWEL

The introduction of a two-token system introduces BAWK as the primary token for acquiring shares in Chicken Racing Companies. By staking BAWK tokens, players can claim shares, earning a passive income from racing fees. With 2 billion BAWK tokens planned, allocation includes 30% for pre-sale, 22% for the game ecosystem, 8% for tournaments, and 40% for staking rewards. The five-year distribution system ensures a gradual release of ecosystem tokens through race rewards, benefiting all participants.

Every race entry earns participants a share of the BAWK distribution, fostering an inclusive approach. Moreover, a staking system for owners of Spicy chickens adds another layer of engagement. On the other hand, JEWEL serves as the main in-game currency, utilized for races, breeding, fusion, and other features. Collected fees from these activities contribute to the race rewards pool, creating a self-sustaining cycle for JEWEL tokens.

Chicken Derby: Racing Beyond the Norm

Chicken Derby distinguishes itself with its unique NFT chickens, divided into four rarities and featuring various cosmetic traits. These chickens possess special Talents that can range from a short flight to creating a black hole during races. Perfection ratings and hidden preferences for track distance and type add depth to the gameplay, making each race unpredictable.

Chicken Derby continually surprises players with 'Easter Egg' bonuses, encouraging community exploration. Looking ahead, the developers plan to introduce breeding, a social hub, and even land ownership, promising an expansive and immersive experience for players.

While Chicken Derby's innovative approach holds promise, the gaming industry has witnessed the rise and fall of economies. The developers acknowledge the potential pitfalls and express a commitment to adapt and refine the system based on lessons learned from past experiences. As the dual-token system prepares for implementation, the success of Chicken Derby's evolved game economy lies in its ability to balance player engagement, rewards, and sustainability.

What is Chicken Derby?

Chicken Derby stands as a virtual chicken racing simulation operating on the Polygon network. Each chicken within the game is represented as a unique NFT (Non-Fungible Token) and can be actively enrolled in races with the chance to win lucrative prizes.

Alongside these classifications, each chicken possesses a range of random cosmetic traits, spanning from conventional white feathers to striking tiger patterns or even futuristic robot-like appearances. Furthermore, every chicken boasts a special Talent that can be triggered during races, varying from modest abilities like a short flight to more extraordinary feats such as generating a black hole.

To enhance the complexity and unpredictability of races, chickens are assigned Perfection ratings that impact their performance. Nevertheless, victory in a race is influenced by factors beyond individual capabilities. Each chicken harbors hidden preferences for track distance and type, as well as a Consistency rating, and players must unravel these preferences through personal exploration.

With seven diverse terrain types, six varying track lengths, and twelve chickens participating in each race, each with their distinct preferences, talents, and racing styles, Chicken Derby ensures that race outcomes remain unpredictable. The game also features 'Easter Egg' type bonuses that the development team adds to the official documentation once discovered by the community. For instance, chickens with Alien Eyes receive a boost to their Teleport ability, provided they possess it. Chicken owners can also customize their chickens with an expanding array of cosmetic items.

Owners with an excess of chickens can engage in fusion, creating hybrids with potentially unique traits. Future updates are planned to introduce additional features such as breeding, a social hub, and land ownership to further enrich the Chicken Derby experience.
