Champions Ascension Removes Wallet Requirement, Opens Pre-Alpha to All Gamers

Champions Ascension, the PVP combat NFT game, has made a major announcement on Twitter. The team has announced that players will no longer need a wallet to play starting February 23rd.

Currently, in its pre-alpha stage, Champions Asencion is an exciting fantasy virtual world where players can experience PvP combat in the arena-based battle mode. Users also have the opportunity to explore and engage in various activities such as breeding, land ownership, crafting, and trading with an in-game marketplace.

The pre-alpha currently only offers arena combat mode with select champions available and a few mini-games for players to try out.

Previously, gamers had to have their own web3 wallet to start playing the game. However, with the latest update, the game is even removing the required invite code, effectively removing the barrier between web3 and web2 gamers. This feature will make the onboarding process for traditional gamers far easier, contributing a boost to NFT games to mass adoption.

Players who managed to mint their in-game avatars(Prime or Champion)  will be able to equip them in the game while those without wallets will reportedly get a default human avatar so they can still interact with the game.

This move is expected to attract more gamers to Champions Ascension, as it removes the need for a web3 wallet, which could be a barrier to entry for some players.  This will allow many more gamers to try the game, making them realize perhaps they have missed out on NFT gaming.
