GUNZ Network Goes Live

Gunzilla Games is set to launch its Avalanche L1 blockchain, GUNZ Network, on March 31. The launch follows the studio’s earlier estimate for a Q1 2025 release. This network provides a decentralized infrastructure for developers and users, supporting Web3 gaming. The GUN token will be traded concurrently with the network launch, providing investors and gamers with an early chance to interact with the ecosystem.

GUN will be immediately tradable on Binance, one of the largest crypto exchanges. However, it will carry a seed tag, which means it belongs to an innovative project and may experience significant volatility. The seed tag serves as a caution for investors that the token’s value might fluctuate more than established assets.

“The biggest AAA gaming ecosystem in Web3 is heading to Binance—the world’s leading exchange,” said the official GUNZ Network account on X. The GUN token will have a total supply of 10 billion tokens. Out of that, 400 million (4%) will be set aside for staking rewards through Binance Launchpool. This provides an incentive for early adopters to participate in the ecosystem and support the network’s security and functionality.

Support from Delphi Ventures

Three months ago, Gunzilla Games teamed up with investment firm Delphi Ventures. The GUNZ Foundation, a nonprofit organization they founded together, is in charge of maintaining the GUN token and supervising the network's activation. The foundation's guidance of development, governance, and general adoption will be crucial to the project's long-term success.

The announcement came late in March, shifting predictions on MYRIAD, a betting platform. Earlier that day, odds stood at 75% that Off the Grid would not hit mainnet by the end of Q1. After the announcement, those odds flipped to 73% in favor of a successful launch. However, as of now, only 43% of MYRIAD users believe the launch will happen on time. This shows that despite the official announcement, some traders remain skeptical about the timing of the rollout.

Once the mainnet goes live, players of Off the Grid will be able to trade in-game assets such as weapons and skins. They will also have the ability to buy and sell the GUN token. This marks a significant step in Web3 gaming, giving users more control over their digital assets and creating a player-driven economy.

"GUNZ is the initial network in a triple-A game that allows you to convert what you have into tradable NFTs either within the game's marketplace or outside of it," the network's website states. This integration allows players to monetize their gaming experience in ways not possible in traditional games.

Before mainnet, players have been interacting with the GUNZ testnet. They earned GUN tokens and in-game items by playing the battle royale shooter. Testnet GUN balances will be reset upon mainnet launch, but unique assets will be retained.

Some users have already started trading assets through unofficial “black markets.” These rare items have sometimes sold for thousands of dollars. After launch, players will no longer need to rely on unofficial trading methods, as they will have a secure and regulated marketplace.

Off the Grid launched in early access in October 2024 on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X. It attracted attention from both crypto and traditional gamers. The GUNZ network will not be exclusive to Off the Grid—other game studios will be able to use it, and the GUN token will be integrated across multiple titles. This broadens the potential user base and encourages more developers to adopt blockchain gaming technology.

A representative from Gunzilla Games has not yet responded to requests for comment. More details may emerge as the launch date approaches. The gaming and crypto communities will be watching closely to see if the project delivers on its promises.
