Captain & Company is designed to allow players to opt into digital ownership but never forces it. The game will permit full-scale resource harvesting, collection, and trading.

That's why we've taken the greatest core gameplay loops of all first-person AAA pirate adventure games and compressed them into one super-accessible browser & mobile-compatible 128-player arena.

Captain & Company's asymmetric gameplay allows the courageous few, the Captains, to put their assets on the line to lead large teams of other fearless players, the Company, into victorious battle and reap big rewards.
How many Captain & Company NFT are there?
Ships
Captains own ships, and Company play on ships on behalf of captains. When ships are damaged, they must be repaired using currency. When a player sinks another player's ship in combat, the victorious player may claim and extract with the currency embedded in their opponent's now-sunken ship, which is approximately equivalent to the repair cost paid on that ship.
Cosmetics
Players may purchase cosmetics from other players or create them during the course of gameplay. Cosmetics are never damaged and do not require repairs. Rare cosmetics will be issued in limited-supply runs, but lower-tier cosmetics will be unlimited.
Blueprints
Blueprints are obtained as random drops from victorious battles, and are kept by the winning captain who extracts successfully. Blueprints are combined with resources to create ships or cosmetics.
Resources
Resources are farmed from resource nodes scattered around the battle arenas in Captain & Company. Fearless captains must navigate their ships close to the nodes to harvest the resources, and must extract successfully to keep the harvest.
Currencies
There are two currencies in Captain & Company. Nuggies, the in-game-only currency, is won by defeating other ships out on the high seas and extracting successfully, and is used to repair ships and finalize cosmetic and ship constructions. For players looking to trade the currency, nuggies can be exchanged into $KAP tokens by non-US players and used outside of the Captain & Company ecosystem.

Choose Your Destiny:
Players are either Captain or Company -- that is, they either own a ship (and risk it for the biscuit) or they own nothing, and just capture free upside if their team wins. Upon spawning into the game, you'll be greeted with at the docs with a decision point. On the left, you'll see the ships and the sail functions reserved for captains (who own ships). On the right, you'll see the job board for Company members, who don't need to bring anything at all!
Ships:
Ships enable players to play as Captains, the absolute leaders of the Captain & Company world. Captains are the inspirational figureheads that lead their Company members to fame and fortune by piloting a ship or lending it out to their compatriots. Ships are all limited edition, as the global shipyard only has so many parts for these half-magical beasts of the sea!
Experience & Reputation:
- All skills have both an “experience” level and a “reputation” level.
- Your experience level always increases, no matter if you win or lose by doing the activity. For example, firing a cannon grants gunning experience on a hit, always.
- Your reputation, on the other hand, is related to successful outcomes in activities. It also goes down if you perform an activity poorly.
- Your experience and reputation levels are all publicly shown on a leaderboard to assist in recruiting the best & most adventurous pirates.

Set sail as the captain of your very own digitally collectible ship. Hire a crew of real players by scouring the globe for the world's most talented pirates. Then lead your company into battle to compete for premium tradable currency!
Or, answer a captain's call and join their company! Earn a real wage for your skills on the high seas. With the support of your fellow company, anything is possible. Journey through treacherous waters, conquer your enemies, and pillage their vessels to become the wealthiest pirates on the seven seas.
How to make money in Captain & Company?
Players can interact with the Captain & Company economy via either ordinary in-game methods (nuggies), traditional credit cards, or blockchain methods ($KAP tokens).
In-Game Currency:
Nuggies are the in-game currency and are earnable by successfully extracting nuggies from defeated opponents or events inside of the main battle arena. Nuggies can also be directly purchased with either cash or $KAP tokens. Nuggies are required for completing repairs to ships and crafting new ships and cosmetics. Players will later be able to earn nuggies for working inside other player-owned shops.
On-Chain Currency:
Captain & Company uses the $KAP token as its base on-chain currency. Players are able to exchange in-game nuggies for $KAP tokens so long as they do not reside in the US or in any nation on the OFAC Sanctioned Nations List. Players can also use $KAP tokens to purchase nuggies inside the game.
