Key Takeaways

  • Upland’s new Harvest Season runs from October 1 to November 15, adding the Residents system, Life: Phase 1, and Gamified Earnings Missions.
  • The update brings new construction types, population simulation, and living ecosystems where players can grow plants and manage communities.
  • A Harvest Season Pass offers collectible rewards, mystery drops, and exclusive cosmetics for dedicated players.

What’s New in the Harvest Season

The Harvest Season 2025 update brings new ways to interact, build, and earn. It runs from October 1 to November 15 and introduces three main features: Residents, Life: Phase 1, and Gamified Earnings Missions. Together, they create a more dynamic and community-driven Upland.

Residents and Uppies

For the first time, Upland adds a population system. Uppies, or digital citizens, will live in player-built neighborhoods. Every area can host Uppies based on its available Living Units, so players need to develop properties to attract them. However, there are fewer Uppies than available homes. This means players will compete to create the most appealing neighborhoods.

Uppies prefer locations with strong infrastructure, good schools, local entertainment, and job opportunities. Two new stats help track progress:

  • Influence Score: measures how attractive your neighborhood is to Uppies.
  • Resident Score: shows how many Uppies live in your structures.

Players can build three main types of Service Structures to attract residents:

  • Public Services such as hospitals, schools, and fire stations.
  • Essentials like supermarkets and barber shops.
  • Entertainment venues such as theaters and cafes.

Employment and transport systems also affect where Uppies settle. Businesses, factories, and vehicles all add to a neighborhood’s liveliness. Creativity in building and decoration helps boost appeal and influence.

Life: Phase 1

The new Life system brings biological growth into the game. It begins with nurseries and the ability to generate seeds. This stage introduces Protem, a temporary resource that supports plant growth. In the future, it will evolve into Stem, a key life-sustaining material in Upland.

Players can earn Protem through Totems during the season. Protem is used to feed and grow plants. Each plant reacts to how well it is cared for—neglect it, and it may wither. This creates an interactive and realistic farming experience.

Nurseries are new business types where players can buy and sell seed Legits. Properties with Totems can let others spend $SPARKLET to generate random seeds. Nursery owners earn from this activity. Once planted, the seeds turn into permanent, property-linked plants that grow with the seasons.

This phase is the first step toward introducing more living systems in Upland, including pets and other lifeforms in future updates.

Gamified Earnings Missions

Gamified Earnings Missions return this season with new objectives and better rewards. Players complete weekly missions to boost next season’s property yield. Each week brings fresh tasks, available from Tuesday 9 AM PT to the next Tuesday 7 AM PT.

Completing missions raises your UPX multiplier, up to 3.1x for those who finish all ten tasks. The more missions you complete, the higher your next season’s earnings. For example, finishing five missions increases yield by 14.7%.

The first week’s missions, Homegrown Hustle and City Services, focus on building Living and Service Structures, connecting directly to the new features of Harvest Season.

The Harvest Season Pass

The Harvest Season Pass is a collectible pass that unlocks weekly mystery drops and exclusive rewards. It costs $6.99 and runs for six weeks. Players who burn their pass gain access to all drops and receive a profile badge.

Each Tuesday, a mystery drop rewards players who have an active burned pass. Missed drops cannot be reclaimed. Collectors can also earn the Harvest Fusion Pass by gathering all four character collectibles before October 20 at 9 AM PT. This pass adds rarity and boosts collector scores.

Rewards include:

  • Unique cosmetics that can’t be found elsewhere.
  • Non-tradable items tied permanently to player accounts.
  • Limited-edition mystery drops tied to the Harvest theme.

About Upland

Upland is a free-to-play metaverse game where players buy, sell, and build virtual properties based on real-world locations. It mixes real estate management, city-building, and social features. Every player owns digital assets through blockchain technology. The in-game currency, UPX, can be earned from property yield, trading, or completing missions. Players can use UPX to buy and mint new properties. Even though UPX cannot be traded outside the game, players can list their NFT-based properties for USD and earn real money through Upland’s NFT-to-USD program.

Upland is available on web browsers, Android, and iOS. It allows free play without needing any prior crypto experience. Over time, the platform expanded beyond property ownership to include cars, businesses, and digital citizens. The new Harvest Season is one of Upland’s biggest updates, introducing Residents and Life: Phase 1, two systems that reshape how the game world functions.

Last month, Upland also introduced its 2.0 rebrand, which brings a stronger focus on city building and urban development. This new direction highlights construction, creativity, and the growth of player-made communities, setting the stage for the Harvest Season’s new features.
