Tatsumeeko: Lumina Fates Ends Development
Tatsu has officially stopped development on Tatsumeeko: Lumina Fates. The decision followed months of player feedback and internal evaluation. Even though the game had promising moments through eight different playtests, the team decided it no longer matched their goals for long-term success or the quality players expected.
Tatsu acknowledged the support and excitement from players and partners during the development journey. The news may feel disappointing, especially for those who followed the game closely. Still, the team believes the experience helped shape their direction. They’re now focusing on new projects that better reflect what they stand for.
Tatsumeeko was a free-to-play title for mobile and PC. It featured a modern fantasy world with 2.5D environments and a unique Arcana system. Players could build combat strategies from millions of combinations and enjoy both turn-based combat and housing gameplay. The game was first built on Solana and Immutable X. Later, in September 2024, Tatsu Works moved it to the Ronin blockchain, a system compatible with Ethereum. This marked a key moment as the studio stepped deeper into web3 gaming.

Since 2015, Tatsu has focused on building games for communities. The belief has always been that games work best when they grow inside the spaces where people already connect. Their early products like Tatsu.GG and Tatsugotchi reached over 1.5 million Discord communities. When Lumina Fates started in 2022, the idea was to build on that success. But the project got too complex. Over time, it moved away from the things that made Tatsu’s games special.
Introducing Project: Wander
Tatsu is now working on something new—Project: Wander. This time, they’re staying close to their roots. The new project won’t live on external platforms. Instead, it will exist inside digital spaces where users already spend time, like Discord. The idea is to make gameplay more social and immediate. Tatsu is also changing how they build. They’ll now work with shorter timelines, push updates more often, and stay in close contact with the community.
Tatsu will continue supporting users who took part in Lumina Fates. Items like the Meekolony Passes and Aethereal Parcels will still have value in the future. Players who joined in earlier events won’t be forgotten either. The team plans to give these users benefits as they move into new releases. A roadmap is coming soon to show how everything will connect in the new system.

Tatsu wants to focus more on social and shared play. They believe fun doesn’t just come from game mechanics. It comes from how players interact. The company wants to build games that match the personality of each server or group. With spontaneous moments, community-made content, and natural conversations, Project: Wander will reflect the energy of the people who play it.
Development for Project: Wander has already started. First versions will launch as soon as they’re ready. Tatsu plans to stay open with players and make changes based on feedback. They’ve learned a lot from Lumina Fates. Now, they’re using that knowledge to return to the way they worked in the beginning.
Tatsu thanked everyone who supported Lumina Fates. Even though the game has ended, the studio sees this as a fresh start. They’re going back to what made their earlier projects strong. With Project: Wander, the goal is to build games that live and grow within communities. Not just games to play, but spaces where people connect, share, and have fun together.
