RavenQuest’s First Major Expansion Drops August 15

Tavernlight Games has locked in August 15 for the release of The Treasures Below, the first major expansion for RavenQuest. This expansion will bring fresh content, new systems, and a deeper way to engage with the game’s player-driven economy and PvP experience. It also marks a big step forward in the game’s evolution on both gameplay and token fronts.

RavenQuest is a sandbox MMORPG built on Immutable zkEVM. It’s a web3 evolution of the original Ravendawn, a popular web2 title with more than 200,000 unique monthly players. The game's pixel fantasy realm is top-down. Character development, resource gathering, equipment crafting, housing construction, and real-time PvP and PvE warfare are all available to players.

It launched globally on March 14, 2025 as a free-to-play download for Windows PCs. The mobile version is still in development. You can register and download the game from the official site, or wait for its upcoming Epic Games Store release that coincides with the expansion.

The Treasures Below expansion brings new ways to play and earn. At the center of this update are two major systems—Expeditions and Ranked Arena PvP.

Expeditions follow a roguelike format. Every run is different. The prizes get better as the difficulty increases. Unpredictable obstacles will be faced by players, making every playthrough unique.

Ranked PvP enters the game through the new MMR Arena system. This 2v2 mode features three consecutive rounds of combat. You can play with a friend or get paired with another solo player. Arena windows open three times a day. Each session lets you play up to three matches. To enter, players need to be at least Legacy Level 65. No rarity limits are placed on RavenCards. Warforged Skills are fully active, giving you complete control over your build.

Over 60 new classes are being introduced through added Archetypes. There will be new weapon types and a Mass Collect button to streamline land resource gathering. The new Gemstones system lets players add extra effects to gear for further customization.

The expansion also brings The Thaw Festival, a limited-time seasonal event. It offers exclusive rewards and lore-focused content. The Ostera region will feature new high-level enemy spawns for those looking for tougher challenges.

Two new Rift maps are being added. Cosmetic upgrades, including a new category called Adornments, will give players another way to stand out.

$QUEST Ecosystem 2.0 and Play-to-Earn Changes

The Treasures Below will also kick off $QUEST Ecosystem 2.0. New token sinks and added utility are coming. These changes are expected to give players more ways to use $QUEST beyond trading or selling. Details are limited for now. The full reveal will likely arrive closer to launch.

This upgrade might reshape how players interact with the game’s economy. It could strengthen the long-term value of in-game effort and reduce inflation within the ecosystem. Until then, the current earning structure remains in place.

Players can earn $QUEST by completing Bounties and converting Silver Coins. Silver is gained from core gameplay like quests, PvE, PvP, crafting, and more.

The Tradepack system plays a big role in earning. You gather materials, craft a Tradepack, and transport it to a Tradepost. Once delivered, you earn Silver. This Silver can then be converted into $QUEST using the peer-to-peer in-game exchange.

Bounties are an additional source of income. These could be weekly or daily jobs like gathering objects, fighting, or finishing tasks. They offer the opportunity to earn $QUEST tokens and in-game incentives.

The Treasures Below appears to be a significant advancement for RavenQuest. More customisation, deeper PvP, new gaming mechanics, and economic shifts are all on the horizon. The game is expected to attract more players from outside the cryptocurrency community on the same day as the Epic Games Store debut.
