Key Takeaways
- Project O is hosting its 3rd Alpha Tournament on Saturday, September 20, with exclusive prizes and a double elimination format.
- A practice tournament will run earlier the same day, giving players time to warm up and win small rewards.
- Players must join through the official Discord, set up the test client, and complete the NDA form before competing.
The weekend kicks off with a practice event called Ultimate Tournament Preparation. It begins at 4:00 AM (SGT) on Saturday, September 20. This early session uses a single elimination bracket, with best-of-one matches played solo. Out of 128 spots, 46 have already been filled. While the practice round is designed as a fun warm-up, players can still win card packs during the playtest. Koin Games will also open server access on Thursday, September 18. This gives everyone a chance to test decks and practice strategies before the competition.
Main Alpha Tournament #3 Details
The official Alpha Tournament #3 starts later that night at 10:00 PM (SGT). Players must check in at 2:00 PM UTC, with check-in closing half an hour later. This round uses a double elimination bracket, which means players get a second chance even if they lose early. Most matches will be best-of-one, but the finals change to a best-of-three format. Out of 512 available slots, 86 players have already registered. Prizes include blueprints and card packs. The top winner receives 2x blueprints and 3x packs, while second and third take home smaller rewards. Players up to 32nd place will still receive card packs.
Tournament Rules and Format
The tournament is run through Tourney Bot inside the Project O Discord. Players will create and join match rooms themselves and report scores in dedicated match threads. Admin support will be available for technical problems. If a player crashes, the rules allow for a replay if both agree. If only one player crashes, the match continues unless both decide otherwise. Players must also keep the client open after matches for score verification. Incorrect or false reporting can lead to disqualification. Trash talk and in-game emotes are allowed for fun, but toxic or abusive behavior can result in bans.
To join, players first need to download the Project O test client through the official Discord server. Inside the server, head to the #playtest-role channel and click the button to get the Playtester role. A new channel will appear with sign-up instructions and installation links. Tournament registration and all communication are managed directly in Discord.
Before playing, each participant must complete the NDA form and submit their email for whitelisting. A guide video is available to help with setup. On tournament day, the client can be downloaded from the Discord channel. Players must check that “Koin Games Inc” appears as the verified publisher in the file signature. A password is also required for installation, which will be shared in the same channel. After installing, log in using the whitelisted email and confirm with a one-time code. Once the password is set, players can access the client and prepare for matches.

About Project O
Project O is a competitive trading card game being developed by Koin Games. It is designed as a mobile-first title but is currently playable on PC for tournaments. Each match lasts 7–9 minutes and is played with 13-card decks on a 3-lane board. The game mixes original characters with reimagined figures like Queen of Hearts, Robin and Boots, and Winnie the Pooh. This design creates quick yet strategic matches, while also building a unique world of recognizable characters.
Project O is built on Immutable, a web3 platform known for supporting blockchain games. Immutable offers features such as Passport for simple logins and Immutable Play for community growth. Koin Games has plans for digital collector features within Project O. These include rare card drops, collector-only events, and a trading marketplace. Players will be able to manage digital collections, join pack battles, and participate in limited-run events. This structure blends competitive card gameplay with a strong collector experience.
Both the practice event and Alpha Tournament #3 are open to anyone who signs up through Discord. Check-in for the main event happens at 2:00 PM UTC on Saturday. Tournament brackets are fully managed by Tourney Bot. Koin Games plans to keep hosting weekly playtests and more alpha tournaments. This gives players a chance to refine decks and strategies while helping the developers test balance and stability. The ongoing tournaments also help Project O grow its early competitive community before the official launch.
