Big Changes to Combat Balance
Gunzilla Games has pushed a major update for Off The Grid, a free-to-play cyberpunk battle royale. The game is still in Early Access and available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. The largest alteration to the gameplay is a 30% decrease in Time-to-Kill (TTK). This means fights now end faster, and combat feels deadlier. To balance this, weapon spread has been increased. If players shoot while moving or in the air, accuracy drops.
These changes shift how players approach fights. Close-range battles now feel quicker and more intense. But at mid-range, it’s easier to land hits. Some players feel this part needs more tuning. Gunzilla said more updates are coming, especially to recoil. They’re watching player feedback and plan to adjust things in future patches.

In Terms Off The Grid
The third-person battle royale game Off The Grid combines intense single-player narrative with quick multiplayer gameplay. Battle royale matches and a 60-hour campaign are available to players. Blockchain technology is also used in the game. Weapons and cybernetic limbs are among the items that players can exchange for NFTs. The GUN token in a mobile wallet can be used to exchange these goods.
A new type of gear is now in the game—Legendary Weapons. These only appear once per match and come with stronger stats and built-in attachments. Players can find them through loot boxes or drone missions. But there’s a catch. Legendary Weapons don’t stay with you after the match ends.
Some players were disappointed. Gunzilla’s CEO had hinted at “Legendary items,” which many thought would be permanent unlocks. The patch doesn’t include Legendary Hexes, which were expected to bring lasting rewards like exclusive weapons or cybernetic upgrades. There’s still no update on when those will come.
New Battle Pass with Two Themes
Additionally, a new Battle Pass is included in the update. Hopper Pilot and CleanUp Crew are two of its themed routes. CleanUp Crew introduces the Hawk CleanUp Crew LMG, a "No Pulse" emote, and new character skins. The wildlife of Teardrop Island's delivery pilots served as the inspiration for Hopper Pilot. It has the "Emergency Ejection" emote, the AZV Pilot weapon, and futuristic clothing.

Both tracks come with many cosmetic rewards and loyalty bonuses. Players who complete them get extra content that celebrates progression.
Behind the scenes, Gunzilla is testing a new Ranked Mode. It’s not live yet, but the system is active in the background. It groups players by skill level to improve matchmaking. This follows what many other competitive shooters already use.
Aim assist has also been improved. A bug with first-person scopes after melee attacks is now fixed. Players can expect smoother aiming, especially when switching between different combat styles. These updates are part of a broader plan to improve the feel of the game during Early Access.
The update also adds a new OTG Pro Content Pack. It features Crash Test Ted, a new character skin. Along with the Type 227 Flatliner weapon, players also receive the "Impact Replay" emote. The pack has gotten mixed reviews. Some players say Crash Test Ted looks too much like the earlier Impact Junkie skin, which was a Discord-exclusive. This has raised concerns about reused assets.
Gunzilla has responded by saying it wants to listen to feedback and release content more regularly. Even though the update didn’t include permanent Legendary items, the team is working on more patches and community updates.
Gunzilla is still shaping Off The Grid. The game is growing and changing with each patch. There are technological improvements, new weaponry, and cosmetics available to players. The studio is focusing on quick updates, balancing gameplay, and listening to what the community says. There’s still a lot of ground to cover, especially with features like Legendary Hexes and Ranked Mode. But the direction is clear—more content, tighter gameplay, and a stronger connection with players.
