MAJOR Token Airdrop Launches on Thanksgiving

The Telegram game and engagement platform, Major, is set to release its token and begin airdropping MAJOR to players on Thanksgiving. On-chain claims are now open for eligible participants. The token will officially launch on The Open Network (TON), with the token generation event scheduled for 12 pm UTC on Thursday. Players who meet the criteria can connect their TON wallet to claim the tokens.

Players previously had the option to select a centralized exchange, such as OKX or Bitget, to claim their tokens. Another popular choice was the Wallet app on Telegram. Now, Major has introduced support for additional self-custody TON wallets. This gives players more flexibility in managing their MAJOR tokens. The token has a total supply of 100 million, with plans for further integration into the platform.

Since its launch earlier this year, Major has attracted over 30 million players. Through gaming, networking, and engagement tasks, users can earn stars on the Telegram mini app. According to the developers, this dynamic has helped establish a loyal and growing community.

Major joins the ranks of other Telegram mini apps like Notcoin, Hamster Kombat, Catizen, and X Empire, which also gained significant attention through token airdrops. While these games have seen high initial engagement, many tokens have experienced a drop from their all-time high prices. Developers aim to learn from these outcomes to build a more sustainable token ecosystem.

The developers have revealed strategies to keep the Major app active and engaging after the token release. This includes launching a gaming hub and introducing the ability to mint in-game achievements as NFTs. These NFTs can influence rankings in other games, adding value and fostering interconnected gameplay.

Major’s creators will also airdrop 1% of the token supply, amounting to 1 million MAJOR, to Telegram co-founder and CEO Pavel Durov.
