MagicCraft’s Major Update Brings New Features

MagicCraft, the PvP MOBA game, has launched its most significant update so far. With this update, the game is also available on HyperPlay, a web3 game store. This makes it easier for players to access the $MCRT-powered game. Across the PC, Android, and iOS platforms, Patch 4.29.9319 adds new features that improve gameplay and elevate the whole experience. A new in-game currency system, customization choices, and changes that show the top 500 players to promote competitive play are also included in the update.

A new customization shop has been introduced, allowing players to purchase skins and weapons to personalize their characters. Skins are now available for most champions, with more, including an "epic skin pack," on the way. Some of the dozens of new weapons could receive buffs in future updates, potentially giving them more than just a cosmetic role. The character selection screen now includes buttons for equipping these new items, making customization easier for players.

A new in-game currency called MagicDust replaces previously earned currencies. Players now start with 5 characters from the current 19-champion roster and need to earn MagicDust to unlock additional ones. MagicDust cannot be bought with real money but can be earned through playing matches and daily login rewards. Players received 100,000 MagicDust to start, which is enough to unlock 2 characters. Gems, which can only be purchased via in-app transactions, are needed for buying new skins and weapons.

Several bugs have been addressed in this update. The real-time score now updates during matches, and a previous issue where character power buttons would stop working has been resolved. These fixes, along with gameplay and sound improvements, help make the game more immersive and enjoyable.

According to the CEO’s X thread, more updates are expected soon, which will further shape MagicCraft as a play-to-earn game. One major addition will include web3 incentives tied to the top 500 leaderboard. Though details about future earning features have not been fully shared, the development team is committed to making MagicCraft a leading game in the web3 space.

Access MagicCraft on HyperPlay

Web3 gamers can now play MagicCraft on HyperPlay. To access the game, players can visit HyperPlay’s official store page and download the PC version. Currently, it is only available for Windows PCs through HyperPlay, with mobile players still able to access the game via the Play Store or App Store. HyperPlay also offers a launcher for Windows, MacOS, Linux, and Steam Deck, providing a unified space for web3 games. Players can connect their wallets through WalletConnect or MetaMask to approve transactions.

HyperPlay’s platform continues to grow, offering other web3 games like Apeiron, Shrapnel, and Phantom Galaxies. Moonray will be available for PlayStation 5 in 2025, while Off the Grid recently launched for PC, PS5, and Xbox. HyperPlay also received a strategic investment from Square Enix, bringing their NFT game to the platform.
