At the start of the year, Logan Paul finally reached out to its community after effectively scamming them millions of dollars. Reparations and a plan for refund were in place, and all was well in web3 gaming’s corner of CryptoZoo - well until it wasn’t.
Six months have passed since this fabled promise to burn tokens and refund tokens was made, and the community has yet to receive a single update or move about what happens next.
The CryptoZoo deal
Logan Paul, an American YouTube star, gained fame through his eccentric adventures and content. From participating in a boxing match with retired pros to vlogging controversies such as the Japan suicide man vlog.
Moreover, Paul is viewed as a successful business icon by his fans, receiving success with his ventures in business such as Maverick, an apparel brand, and Prime Hydration, an energy drink brand. However, his foray into the world of NFTs(non-fungible tokens) with CryptoZoo turned sour when investors who bought $2.5 million worth of eggs lost millions of dollars after the price of CryptoZoo eggs plummeted just 24 hours after their purchase.
Crypto journalist and YouTuber Coffeezilla, also known as Stephen Findeisen, dug deep into this issue and released an exposé that revealed much more sinister happenings behind the crypto game project.
In the aftermath of the scandal, Logan Paul faced backlash from his community, eagerly seeking answers. Eventually, Logan Paul relented, acknowledging the journalist's investigation and expressing gratitude in a video posted on his youtube channel
He vowed to refund more than $1.8 million to users who preferred not to wait for CryptoZoo's completion. As a sign of goodwill, both Paul and his manager, Jeffrey Levin, agreed to burn their ZOO tokens, rendering them unusable and preventing any personal profits.
How it's Turning Out
Fast forward to six months, the community’s expectation for resolution has yet to be fulfilled.
Instead of personal updates or clear communication from Logan Paul, the only statements available are from his criminal defense lawyer addressed to Coffeezilla, leaving users feeling disheartened and suspicious.
The statements, although highly disappointing, convey a glimpse into how it's turning out for Paul. The lack of a definitive timeline and a conveyed concrete plan tells a lot about the progress, leading to growing concerns that Paul has strategically abandoned the project.
As frustrations mount and skepticism grows, the CryptoZoo community finds itself in a state of uncertainty. The absence of concrete action or a transparent roadmap for resolution has only fueled suspicions surrounding Logan Paul's intentions and the future of CryptoZoo.
Conclusion
The CryptoZoo drama, which erupted six months ago, continues to unfold, leaving investors and supporters in limbo. Despite initial promises to rectify the situation, Logan Paul's lack of substantial updates and communication has left the community questioning his commitment to resolving the matter.
As users anxiously await answers, only time will tell what fate awaits CryptoZoo investors.
