Playtest Season 1: Ground Zero

Playtest Season 1 - Ground Zero of Rumble Kong League (RKL), a competitive 3v3 mobile basketball sport game, is now available. The dates of this one-week event are August 21–August 28. This new playtest is unique from the others because it is the first of a planned seasonal playtest series. These sessions allow participants to share feedback while potentially earning rewards.

For those who have played RKL before, you'll notice several improvements in the core gameplay. The developers have enhanced the experience, making it more dynamic and competitive. One major update is the addition of four new special abilities: Tackle, Force Shield, Super Dunk, and Rush Hour. These abilities are designed to add tactical depth, requiring players to learn how to use them effectively to gain an edge in matches.

Tackle is a defensive move where you charge at your opponent to take the ball, sending them flying in the process. Timing is crucial for this ability. It can leave your defense open to an easy shot if not executed correctly. Force Shield is another defensive ability that protects your basket for 10 seconds, causing any shot attempts to bounce back. This can create opportunities for quick counterattacks.

On the offensive side, Super Dunk lets you perform a big slam dunk, almost guaranteeing points for your team. The final ability, Rush Hour, is a dash move that allows you to quickly pass through defenders, giving you a better chance to score. Players can select one defensive and one offensive ability from the main menu but can't use all four in a single match.

These new abilities can be tested on Athlos, a new beach-themed court. The first two games against AI are designed to be easy, thanks to adaptive difficulty. This system adjusts the AI’s skill level based on your performance, ensuring that the challenge increases as you improve.

Earning $FAME Points

Players can gain soft cash during this test phase, which they can use to access prize bags. These bags contain in-game playstyles and points for the upcoming $FAME token. The $FAME points can be transferred to the game’s Hall Of Fame SocialFi platform. Players will need to link their Twitter profiles to the game for the points to carry over successfully.

To join this season, you need to be a Kong/Rookie NFT holder. You can verify your ownership in the official Discord server to gain access to the necessary download links. Both RKL Rookies and Rumble Kongs can be purchased on OpenSea on the Ethereum network. As of now, the floor price for an RKL Rookie is 0.0248 ETH ($65), while the cheapest Rumble Kong is 0.189 ETH ($496). Each NFT serves as a playable character and grants early access to the game, which will eventually be free to play. Rumble Kongs offer unique traits and boosts to four stats: Shooting, Finish, Defense, and Vision. While these boosts are active during the playtest, the system may change in the future.

Creator Contest

During this playtest week, a Creator Contest is being held, offering USDT rewards to the top three creative tweets. Participants can create a thread post, gameplay clip, meme, or any creative content. To enter, make a Twitter post related to the playtest using the hashtag #PlayRKL and tag @rumblekongs. You are allowed to submit as many submissions as you like, and the contest concludes on August 28. $500 USDT will go to the winner, $200 USDT to second place, and $50 USDT to third place.
