The blockchain gaming space just welcomed a fresh wave of excitement with the Solana-based Jakpot Games announcing the launch of their new pay-to-play arcade titles, Rex Runner & Speed Racer. Jakpot Games combines fast, seamless pay-to-play gameplay with blockchain rewards, with its native JAKPOT token.

Solana-Based Jakpot Games Launch New Pay-To-Play Games

Although funding in the crypto gaming sector is also down 93% year-over-year, a new launch has been capturing the attention of gamers. Last week, Jakpot Games launched a new play-to-play arcade platform that is set to redefine how gamers engage with GameFi.

There are currently two titles on the Jakpot Games arcade platform, Rex Runner and Speed Racer. For both games, players pay to enter a pixelated environment where they run to achieve the highest score. The top gamers in each tournament get to share 85% of the total jackpot sum.

How the Jakpot Games Platform Works

Unlike the common free-to-play model based on advertising or in-game purchases, Jakpot Games has a pay-to-play model that cuts player incentives directly with the gaming outcomes.

This model can open great possibilities in tournaments, leaderboards, and community-driven events. To participate in the game (Rex Runner or Speed Racer), all you need to do is purchase credits to play any of the games.

Then you compete in hourly tournaments in each of the games. The credits of all participants are pooled into a jackpot. At the end of each tournament, the top 10 players on the leaderboard are rewarded.

At this time, there is a countdown on every Jakpot tournament, and players have 12 to 24 hours to make their way to the top of a game leaderboard and win some $JAKPOT tokens. Per Phantom, 1 JAKPOT token is currently valued at $0.00022654.

The position gets 40% of the total jackpot, the second gets 20%, while the third gets 7%. While the fourth and fifth get 4% and 2%, respectively, players who rank between 6th–10th get 1% each. 10% of every Jakpot in each tournament goes to the team's vault for marketing and development, and 5% rolls over into the next round's pot.

Why Operating on Solana is Important for Jakpot Games

Solana's ultra-fast transaction speeds and minimal fees are important for the success of Jakpot Games. Compared to other blockchain platforms, which can be quite slow and expensive, the Solana architecture enables Jakpot Games to ensure a fast, congestion-free user experience.

In pay-to-play arcade games, where fast reactions and immediate payoffs are essential, Solana speed is important. Players can play in real-time without facing lag, high transaction costs, or delays in getting in-game rewards, which is another stumbling block in blockchain games.

Jakpot Games Records Massive Adoption Upon Launch

Traditional arcade games have long captivated players with their simplicity and addictive gameplay. By injecting a fresh spin on this nostalgia by introducing pay-to-play games, Jakpot Games has recorded massive adoption in the first week of its launch.

In a report on X, the team announced that it has recorded hundreds of gamers with 7,316 games played. Per the report, 16.1 million game credits were transferred in the first seven days of its launch, with 26.7 million $JAKPOT tokens paid out to gamers.

Jakpot Games' Vision: Gaming Meets Decentralized Finance

The Jakpot Games team's games are already looking to expand beyond its current offering of two games. According to a post on X, this is just the beginning for the team as their developers have cracked it. Per the website, the Jakpot Games team is already working on a new title, Hopper Hustle.

The aim is to transform the project into an Arena containing the top arcade games. The team has plans to introduce a "Degen" mode, as well, with increased token buy-in amounts per play in the future to move the stakes even higher.

They are also developing custom game lobbies and actively consider which games they might make available to their platform next. Although Jakpot Games has just three people in its core team, the project is quickly shaping up to emerge as a top gaming project to watch.
