Earn Exclusive Halloween Costumes in Pixels’ New Event
Chapter 2.5 of the social crafting and farming game Pixels, a metaverse and MMORPG for the NFTs you already own, launched on October 16th, opening the door to an exciting Halloween event, new gameplay updates, and a partnership with Binance Blockchain Week. The first event update, Denis the Dentist’s Haunted Harvest, lets players earn limited-edition Halloween costumes and prizes. Denis hosts “Maul a Skaul,” a mini-game where you hit different-colored skeleton heads to earn “teeth,” the event’s currency. Beware of the red skull, though, as it costs you points. Collect teeth, and you can purchase supplies to craft Ump-O-Lanterns, which, when smashed, might reward you with exclusive costumes.

The Haunted Harvest event wraps up on October 31st, so head to the East Exit out of Terra Villa and look for the iron gates to join the festivities. To keep the gameplay balanced, each Ump-O-Thumper tool only lasts for two Ump-O-Lantern smashes before needing a replacement, which costs 13 $PIXEL tokens. Dive in and make the most of the spook-tacular Halloween prizes while you can!
Pixels celebrates Binance Blockchain Week by hosting an online version within the game, kicking off on October 24th. To enter, players can take the portal from Terra Villa or visit pixels.xyz/binance, where they’ll arrive at the Binance Stadium. Here, Heidi, an NPC, offers quests that reward you with 3 PixTix. Use these tickets to claim one of three exclusive Binance-themed prizes at the Binance Truck: a Binance Trophy, a Binance Blanket, or a Binance Coinhead. Since players can only earn three PixTix, choose carefully to snag the prize you want most!
What’s New in Pixels Chapter 2.5?
Chapter 2.5 includes seven new quests and a range of gameplay tweaks, improving user experience and ecosystem balance. Flower and crop planting mechanics have changed, aligning with Pixels’ efforts to create a more specialized in-game environment. Flowers can now only be planted in Solariums that match their type; for example, Water Flowers belong in Large Water House Solariums. Also, some crops are restricted; for example, water mint can only be grown on NFT Water farms while astracactus can only be planted on NFT Space farms. Additionally, harvesting multiple dead crops is now simpler, as players can gather up to nine at once, while Grainbow Flour crafting is now Windmill-based, rewarding Business Skill XP.

The second update of Chapter 2.5, released on October 22nd, focuses on improving the game’s economy and adding skill-based task segmentation. Players now have a task limit of up to 40 per skill, with only four active at once, designed to keep the gameplay engaging and challenging. A revamped Reputation System also tracks both on-chain and off-chain activities, allowing Pixels to combat botting while addressing inflation. Boosting your Reputation now leads to lower marketplace fees, which makes the in-game economy smoother for regular players. Pixels plans to carry this approach into future crypto games.
Players can now spend 5000 coins to buy the Berry Blast, providing 100 energy points. To prevent imbalances, trading or listing energy items on the marketplace is now prohibited. The $PIXEL price for Coins in the Bank has also been modified, and a new quest, “Reputable Banker,” allows players to purchase a Coin coupon to raise their Reputation score. These changes keep the gameplay fair while enhancing player incentives.
To address Wine Energy misuse, the game developers have replaced the full Winery in Terra Villa with a Basic Winery. Here, players can craft single-quantities of items like Popberry Wine and Grainbow Grainshine, though this station is currently T1. On NFT Lands, Wineries have been upgraded to T4 and renamed “Vintage Wineries.” As for landholders, those who hold land for seven consecutive days now gain VIP status. VIP players receive perks like special tasks, fee discounts, increased inventory space, and access to currency pools. Existing VIPs keep their benefits, while new VIPs start with updated rates.
With the release of Chapter 2.5, Pixels players can expect frequent updates rolling out in the coming months. Both large and small updates are planned, continuing to evolve the gameplay and add new opportunities for players. The next few months will be packed with events, item upgrades, and balance improvements. Stay tuned to see how Pixels builds on its charming world and player-focused economy, bringing fresh content to its blockchain-based gameplay.
