Wild Forest Announces New Lord Staking System to Boost Player Engagement

The developers of the free-to-play PvP real-time strategy game, Wild Forest, have announced a new Lord staking system. This update comes after the addition of Training Camps for Castles. The new system will roll out gradually over the coming weeks. The focus is on creating community-driven changes that reward long-term loyalty from players.

Wild Forest’s New Lord Staking System

The new staking system allows players to stake and unstake their Lords at any time. This is a significant change from the previous requirement of a fixed 90-day lock period. Staking your Lord brings various premium features. The longer the asset remains staked, the greater the rewards become. This flexibility encourages players to keep their NFTs active in the ecosystem.

Players can immediately enjoy several benefits from staking their Lords. These include a higher daily mint limit and access to Castle features based on the Lord's rarity. Features such as Training Camps, Taverns, Recruitment Camps, and Campfires will unlock as players stake their Lords. Additionally, players will see increased bonuses of Shard and Gold from the Battle Pass. Stakers will also gain early access to limited pre-sales and new units. Priority access to exclusive events and NFT sales is another perk that enhances the staking experience.

Long-term staking offers even more rewards. Players can lease their Castles to others, earning $WF tokens in the process. Staking for an extended period boosts a player's reputation significantly. Moreover, longer staking increases DAO voting power, making players’ votes more influential in the community. There is also potential for stakers to join exclusive Lord Guilds that will compete in a Guild league. The size and rank of these Guilds depend on the staking duration and the Lord's rank.

To motivate players, the developers have introduced staking streak bonuses. Players can enhance their rewards by staking daily. The bonus progression starts at 0% and can reach up to 200% by staking for nine months. The rewards include increased daily mint limits, better bonuses from the Battle Pass, and higher Gold drops in Camps. Additionally, Training Camps will see reduced training times, and discounts on Unit prices in Taverns will apply. Recruitment Camps will also provide better chances for quality Unit drops.

Transitioning from the Existing Staking System

During this transition period, the existing Lord staking system will continue to function. All currently staked Lords will retain 100% access to existing features. Staking streaks will also continue to grow, allowing players to unlock higher bonuses later. Players are encouraged to keep staking to maximize their rewards before the new re-stake feature is introduced in early October.

The development team has shared a timeline for upcoming features during this transition. Taverns will be live this week, with Recruitment Camps and Campfires launching in early October. Streak bonuses are expected to roll out at the end of October, while Castle Leasing should arrive in November. Stakers with over 30 days of staking will receive rewards from a $600k Community Round. Those with a streak of 90 days or more will receive a larger allocation. Players who have recently started staking may still be considered for additional allocations based on their streaks.
