In the ever-evolving world of web3 gaming, Boss Fighters is breaking new ground with an exciting opportunity for gamers and creators. While user-generated content has long been a staple in gaming through mods, Boss Fighters is taking it up a notch with a "create and earn" program. The latest addition to this trend is a unique contest that invites participants to design Boss skins – not an entire Boss, but creative skins for the existing models.
Unleash Your Creativity with Boss Skin Design
This contest requires participants to bring their designs to life using 3D modeling. The Boss Fighters team recommends tools like Substance, a professional modeling tool, or Blender, a free and widely documented program. To foster creativity and collaboration, Boss Fighters has created a dedicated Discord channel called "boss-crafters" where creators can brainstorm ideas, seek assistance, and share their submissions. To enter the contest, participants must provide screenshots of their creations from multiple angles within the Discord channel and tag a Boss Fighters team member. Even if you're new to 3D modeling, don't worry; the contest runs for the next three months, offering ample time to learn and participate. Winners will be announced in January 2024.
The number of winners chosen will depend on both the quantity and quality of submissions. Winners will have the privilege of naming their designs, which will be incorporated into the game as limited-edition NFT skins, with only 100 copies available. Additionally, they will receive 20 copies of their game skins for personal distribution or sale. The remaining 80 copies will be managed by the Boss Fighters team, ensuring winners enjoy a month of exclusive supply before any skins are offered on the market.
The Boss Fighters Experience: Game Overview
For those unfamiliar with Boss Fighters, it's an asynchronous arena combat game where a team of players faces off against one player controlling the formidable Boss. The Boss possesses immense power, capable of demolishing structures, firing lasers, and even hurling giant hot dogs at hapless opponents. Fighter players, on the other hand, have an arsenal of weapons, including guns, rockets, grappling hooks, and sticky bombs, to battle the Boss.
Boss Fighters is designed to be accessible to all players, with options for those uninterested in blockchain or NFTs to still earn in-game rewards. Cosmetic digital assets and NFTs are available but won't affect gameplay. The game operates in seasons, allowing players to accumulate experience, unlock gear, cosmetics, and upgrades. These rewards reset between seasons, but players can spend in-game currency to convert certain items into NFTs. Boss players receive enhanced rewards for active participation, including bonuses for regular play.
Character, Boss, and weapon skins can be found on Open Loot, adding an extra layer of customization and collectibility to the game.
Final Thought
Boss Fighters aims to capture the excitement of a game show and encourages streaming. They aspire to create an esports ecosystem that's not only thrilling for players but also engaging for viewers. The team is actively exploring ways to reward and involve the audience, fostering a dynamic esports experience for all.
