Castile Launches Open Beta

Today marks the launch of Castile’s monthlong open beta, accompanied by a rewards campaign offering 10 million CAST tokens. This initiative is part of the game developer Nytro Lab's strategy to build anticipation ahead of the official token launch. As of today, Nytro Lab has secured a total of $25 million in funding, thanks to a recent $8 million investment.

Based on the Aptos network, Castile combines features of role-playing games (RPGs) with classic roguelike gameplay. Through combat, players can advance in level and acquire resources as they navigate dungeons. The incorporation of NFTs, which enables the trading of in-game cards on a market, is what sets Castile apart. This adds another layer of depth to the game, blending blockchain technology with immersive gameplay.

Since the alpha testing phase in May, Castile has introduced four key features. One of the most anticipated additions is the Tarot cards. Nytro Lab calls these the "most powerful hero accessory in the game," offering significant in-game advantages. Players can now use Tarot coins to buy equipment and items, adding more opportunities for strategic play. Another new feature is boss-battling races, where players can compete for rewards.A brand-new tournament category has also been introduced, giving players even more opportunities to win prizes.

There is a benefit, even if participants will lose all in-game progress after the open beta ends. Participation in the beta will earn players rewards from the 10 million CAST token pool. Nytro Lab plans to evaluate player behavior, using metrics from league, arena, campaign, and Gate of Hell rankings to distribute these rewards. This ensures that players’ efforts during the beta will not go unnoticed.

CAST Governance Token Still to Launch

Although CAST tokens are being distributed as part of the beta rewards campaign, the token itself has yet to be officially launched. The Nytro Lab website's tokenomics page states that CAST will serve as the game's governance token, allowing users to have a voice in important choices regarding Castile's future. On the other hand, specifics regarding the token's debut date are still unknown.

Castile's open beta will run from September 10 to October 10, providing players with a full month to test out the features and offer comments. Because the beta is available on PC, Android, and iOS, gamers with a variety of devices can easily enroll. For those eager to claim their beta rewards, Nytro Lab has promised to announce the claim date via Castile’s social media channels.

The launch of the open beta coincides with a significant milestone for Nytro Lab. The studio recently closed an $8 million funding round, led by SevenX Ventures, with contributions from OKX Ventures, Aptos Labs, and HashKey Capital. This new funding brings Nytro Lab’s total financial backing to $25 million. The money will be used, according to the studio, for partnerships, community-driven events, and monthly content releases.

Plans for Future Growth and Expansion

Nytro Lab aims to grow Castile and continue expanding its Web3 gaming experience. The money will go toward improving the game's marketplace and adding new social features. Nytro Lab's strategy of emphasizing community gatherings and monthly content releases helps to establish Castile as a game that changes with time and keeps players interested.

With this latest investment, Nytro Lab's co-founder, Arthur Kao, emphasized their commitment to scaling their vision for Castile. Kao highlighted how blockchain technology could create more immersive and rewarding gaming experiences. By using NFTs and tokens like CAST, Nytro Lab is blending traditional gaming with the emerging world of Web3, offering players not just fun but also the opportunity to earn real-world rewards.

This beta period and the rewards campaign signal a new phase for both Castile and its developer, Nytro Lab.
