B3 Announces Its First AI Game Buildathon
An official announcement of the first AI Game Buildathon has been made by the team behind Base's open gaming layer 3 network, B3. This event invites anyone to participate and compete for a chance to win up to $5000.
B3’s AI Game Buildathon is an online game jam where participants create a game using AI. The event runs from March 23rd to March 30th, with winners receiving up to $5000 USDC. This competition is open to all, regardless of coding experience. AI tools now make it possible to build games from start to finish without programming skills.
To support participants, B3 has partnered with Base, Atari, full-stack web3 development platform Thirdweb, and AI-powered on-chain gaming platform Farcade. These partners will host digital workshops to help developers learn the necessary skills. Zora and Rosebud AI have also partnered, giving access to their own tools to facilitate game development.

This event provides an opportunity to gain knowledge about the process of developing AI-powered games while competing for prizes, regardless of your level of experience. It is a chance for learning, experimentation, and creativity.
To participate, register via the link provided in the official X announcement. Enter your name and email address after clicking "Request to Join" to get your request confirmed. Once registered, check out the official documentation linked in the X post to get started with building in the B3 gaming ecosystem.
The event officially starts on March 23rd, and all game submissions must be completed by March 30th. All submissions will be featured on B3’s gaming platform, bsmnt, which has over 170k active players. Judges from Atari will evaluate the submissions and determine the winners.
Beyond the $5000 USDC prize pool, there are additional incentives for participants. Posting updates about your game development on X and tagging Blu3 (@bsmntdotfun) could earn you $B3 tokens from a separate prize pool. There is also a 2000 $B3 bounty for developing a MetaMask vs. Rainbow fighter game.
Participants will also receive free access to Rosebud Pro until March 30th, enabling them to create games without coding. Additionally, Zora’s new CoinSDK is available for integrating coins into games. The top three projects utilizing CoinSDK will each win 400 $OP tokens.
Atari and B3’s Partnership
Atari is not only a partner for this Buildathon but is also working with B3 to bring classic games like Pong to on-chain gaming. This collaboration is expected to further enhance blockchain gaming experiences.

In other developments, Auto Legends has secured a $1 million investment from Coinbase Ventures’ Base Ecosystem Fund. The Base ecosystem's increasing interest in and support for creative gaming initiatives is demonstrated by this investment.
Gamers, developers, and artists get a thrilling chance to test out AI-driven game design at B3's AI Game Buildathon. This event provides a unique opportunity to participate, regardless of your motivations—the competition, the opportunity to learn, or simply trying something new. I wish you all the best of luck!
