Ashes of Mankind Overview

Blockchain technology is incorporated into the tactical gameplay of Black Ice Studios' first-person shooterAshes of Mankind. Gameplay takes place in the dystopian world of Ortus and was originally known as Project Citadel. It was developed by the same team that brought us Cyberpunk 2077 and Call of Duty. It makes use of the Ultra blockchain to let users own, exchange, and manage in-game gear.

Players enter a planet in Ashes of Mankind that is ruled by the Consortium, a collection of strong businesses that have taken the role of established governments.  The game features two main components:

  • AoM: Empires - Players can build and expand their enterprises by managing resources, trading assets, and advancing technologies in this strategic phase.
  • AoM: Citadels - Participants in this first-person shooter can engage in PvP and PvE combat. Citadels allows the integration of resources and items from Empires, allowing for the seamless transition between strategic planning and in-game fighting.

Players' decisions in Empires can directly impact their performance in Citadels, offering a seamless blend of strategy and action.
