The developers of Aphelium, a metaverse Discord game built on NFT land in the WAX blockchain, are set to launch their v0.13.0 update, bringing a host of exciting features to the beta version. In this update, players can look forward to Reputation, Friendship mechanics, the enigmatic Stardust Pledge, and encounters with Landowners and Broken Robots.

Introducing v0.13.0: What's New?

Aphelium's v0.13.0 update brings a slew of new features to enhance the gameplay experience. Let's delve into the details of what's included:

Reputation is a novel metric introduced in this update, tracking your engagement in 'work events.' These events are interactions with NPCs initiated using the /work command. Building a high reputation level, with a maximum of 50 points, can be achieved by engaging with these NPCs. It's important to note that if your reputation dips below 0, it will affect your ability to work on rare or higher-tier lands.

Friendship: Fostering Social Bonds

Friendship marks the beginning of social interactions within the game. It's represented in points gained during work events but can also be diminished if you make enemies. Players can accumulate a maximum of 100 friendship points. To become friends with another player, you'll need between 30-69 points, and to be considered close friends, you'll require 70-100 points. The level of friendship you have with a player impacts how much your reputation decreases when you choose to skip or ignore an interaction. This feature adds depth to the game by allowing players to identify their favorite and least favored resources among the 11 available options, shaping future landowner work events.

The Stardust Pledge is a unique item crafted from minerals. While the specifics of this item remain shrouded in mystery, it has garnered significant attention from landowners. What makes it so desirable is yet to be unveiled, adding an element of intrigue to the game.

Broken Robot is one of the two types of encounters found in work events. When you come across a malfunctioning robot, you'll have two choices: repair it using the requested minerals or skip the event by apologizing. A successful repair is rewarded with AP coins. Opting to apologize and skip the event doesn't affect your reputation, but if you ignore the request entirely by continuing to play without making a choice, your reputation will decrease.

Landowner Encounter: NPC-Controlled Events

The Landowner encounter is the second type of work event. Players may encounter this NPC-controlled event while working on a landowner's plot. You'll have three options: Skip, Gift, or Ignore. Skipping will negatively impact your reputation and friendship levels, while ignoring the NPC completely will severely damage your reputation. Gifting 50 units of one of the resources in your inventory can lead to various outcomes, depending on whether it's the landowner's favorite or least favored resource or even a Stardust Pledge.

Aphelium's v0.13.0 update promises to bring depth and complexity to the game, allowing players to build reputations, form friendships, and engage in intriguing encounters with Broken Robots and Landowners. The enigmatic Stardust Pledge adds an air of mystery to this metaverse experience, making it an update to look forward to in the world of web3 gaming.
