Animoca Brands Partners with AMGI Studios

Shortly after sharing news about a TOWER token buyback, Animoca Brands revealed a new partnership. This time, it's with AMGI Studios, the team behind the third-person web3 shooter My Pet Hooligan. The announcement came on August 5 and includes a plan for Animoca to start acquiring KARRAT tokens on the open market. This move shows continued support for crypto gaming and marks another step in Animoca’s push into web3.

The deal with AMGI Studios focuses on supporting Studio Chain, a new Layer 2 network made with Arbitrum Orbit. It’s still in testnet but is designed to be fast, low-cost, and built for crypto games, AI agents, and digital content. Studio Chain uses Caldera’s tech to handle validation. This should make it easier for developers to create, launch, and monetize web3 games and experiences.

Animoca is contributing to the project by helping with tokenomics, providing guidance on the launch of My Pet Hooligan, and providing liquidity for the KARRAT token. For the games My Pet Hooligan and Studio Chain, KARRAT acts as both the governance and utility token. The Karrat Foundation is also working with AMGI to expand the token's use across the entertainment industry.

Yat Siu, the co-founder and executive chairman of Animoca Brands, shared his excitement. My Pet Hooligan, he said, is a creative game that combines fun graphics with intriguing blockchain technology. Third-person shooter My Pet Hooligan combines PvP and PvE in a vibrant, chaotic world of defiant bunnies. Every rabbit has a distinct appearance and personality. In game types like Free-for-All, Sandbox, and Team Deathmatch, players can fight alone or in teams. In addition, there will be wacky weapons like toilet plungers and flamethrowers, as well as crazy platforming and skating.
