Moonfrost: Cozy Farming Meets Real Rewards
Imagine a farming sim where you restore a forgotten village, fish with friends, and join live events, but this time, your efforts yield real-world rewards. That’s the vision behind Moonfrost, developed by Oxalis Games.
Led by CEO Ric Moore, Moonfrost taps into the charm of life sims while layering in blockchain-driven prize structures. “We wanted to create a place where community and creativity thrive, but also where your time has tangible value,” says Moore.
The game’s roadmap promises seasonal events, multiplayer co-op, and in-game ownership systems that allow players to customize and trade within their world. It’s a blend of Stardew Valley nostalgia and blockchain-enabled opportunity.
WorldShards: Classic MMO Spirit, Modern Tech
On the other end of the spectrum is WorldShards, a fantasy MMO created by veterans of World of Tanks, Allods Online, and Legend: Legacy of Dragons. The game’s core vision is to reimagine the community-driven magic of classic online RPGs, while using Web3 to give players true ownership of their achievements.
Exploration is at the heart of the experience: players traverse diverse islands and biomes, encounter mythical creatures, and build personal home islands that serve as both social hubs and creative spaces.
The team emphasizes that quality comes first. “Many Web3 developers chase investment before gameplay,” the team explained. “We’re gamers first—we’re building something we would actually want to play.”
Upcoming features include a full multiplayer rollout, cross-game collaborations (such as a multiverse event with Big Time), and raid-style encounters requiring deep coordination.
The Open Loot Connection
Both titles are launching through Open Loot, the Web3 gaming ecosystem designed to make ownership seamless. From character gear to crafted items, Open Loot ensures that players don’t just play in these worlds, they take part in shaping and owning them.
For Ric Moore, the partnership is natural: “The Open Loot community is uniquely positioned to bridge hardcore gamers and crypto enthusiasts. That’s what makes this collaboration so exciting.”
The Bigger Picture
Together, Moonfrost and WorldShards show the duality of Web3 gaming’s potential. One emphasizes cozy creativity and casual immersion; the other delivers large-scale fantasy adventures with high-stakes loot. Both are united by a shared mission: to create games that are not only fun to play, but rewarding to invest time in.
As Web3 continues to evolve, these projects hint at a future where virtual worlds are more than entertainment—they’re places of real value, collaboration, and belonging.
🌙🐉 Whether you’re tending crops in Moonfrost or battling monsters in WorldShards, the future of gaming is about to feel a lot more real.
