It will be the centerpiece and first title in what we call the Nyftverse: a set of interoperable games, a marketplace, play-to-earn protocol, game developer tools, and infrastructure —all powered by web3 to realize the dream of a truly open and player-owned metaverse.
What makes Nifty Island unique?
On joining Nifty Island, every new citizen is given their separate island and a customizable avatar. They can play games, display their NFT collections, trade NFTs, and get incentives for playing and contributing content to the gameverse. The metaverse would be based on an open social world where users can visit each other’s islands through the world map. Unlike some metaverses where land’s value is based on its location on the map. The value of an island in this metaverse would depend on social factors like the number of users who want to visit the island and the level of engagement of visitors through different gameplay activities. In this way, island owners are incentivized to build an engaging community around unique custom-made experiences, stories, and fun activities.
Shortly after alpha launch, Nifty Island will support a growing library of games that players can enjoy on their islands.
