The developers behind the web3 RPG Chumbi Valley have launched Season 1 of their new gamified NFT staking program, called Valley Adventures. This program allows holders of Genesis Chumbi NFTs to stake them and send them on various quests to earn rewards such as Lucky Stars and other exclusive NFTs. These quests last a few hours in real time, offering participants a chance to collect unique in-game items. The program aims to enhance the experience for NFT holders by providing both engagement and rewards.

About Valley Adventures

Valley Adventures is designed for Genesis Chumbi NFT holders to stake their NFTs and participate in quests. By doing so, they can earn Lucky Stars, which can be spent in a dedicated shop on exclusive NFTs. These quests vary in length and difficulty, but all of them come with rewards, including the chance to win bonus rare NFTs. Lucky Stars are the primary currency in this system, and they cannot be transferred. They can only be earned and spent within the Valley Adventures program.

The staking process is simple: Genesis Chumbi holders connect their MetaMask wallet to the Valley Adventures website and stake their NFTs in the "My Chumbi" section. There’s no lockup period, so users can unstake their NFTs at any time. However, for now, only MetaMask wallets are officially supported. Other wallets may be compatible, but the developers have not tested them yet. If you're using hardware that connects through MetaMask, it should work fine.

The Experience of Quests and Adventures

Each quest has its own unique story that ties into a larger narrative. These quests come with descriptions and lists of guaranteed rewards, while some rewards are more difficult to obtain. The availability of quests is limited, with some requiring specific types of Chumbi NFTs to participate.

Every quest lasts for 24 hours, and if there is less time remaining before the quest expires, you won’t be able to send your Chumbi on that particular adventure. The start of this season offers 5 adventures, 2 of which are open to all Genesis Chumbi holders, while the remaining quests require specific Chumbi types. As quests close after approximately 6 days, new ones follow to continue the story.

Season 1 began on October 2 and will last for 21 days. During this time, Genesis Chumbi holders can send their NFTs on adventures to earn Lucky Stars and exclusive rewards. Among these rewards, there is also a slim chance to win $CHMB tokens. There are 6 prize bags, each containing 2.5 million $CHMB tokens, but players only have a 1% chance of winning a bag during any given adventure. Each wallet address is limited to one prize bag, and those who win one will receive their tokens at the end of the season.

While $CHMB tokens don’t currently have any specific utility within Season 1, the official guide hints that they may have a role in future seasons.

After completing a quest, Chumbi holders will discover one of three possible outcomes: “Lucky,” “Good,” or “Unlucky.” These outcomes determine how many Lucky Stars a player earns, with better outcomes offering additional rewards like rare NFTs or non-NFT items like Chumberries. Lucky Stars will carry over to future seasons, so holders can continue to accumulate and spend them in the dedicated shop.

Chumberries can also help speed up recovery time after quests. Normally, a Chumbi needs 6 hours to recover before going on another adventure. But with a Chumberry, the recovery time can be reduced by 2 hours. Different Chumberries appeal to different types of Chumbi, so you’ll need to match the right type to your Chumbi. For example, River and Spirit Chumbi won't eat a Flame Chumberry, but Flame, Crystal, Creature, and Void Chumbi will.

The items currently available in the shop will remain for the entire season and a short period afterward. Each season provides a new selection of NFTs, and once the next season begins, some items may be replaced with fresh rewards. Between seasons, there will be a break to allow the developers time to gather feedback and introduce new features for future gameplay.

If you don’t own a Genesis Chumbi NFT but want to take part in Valley Adventures, you can buy one on OpenSea using the Polygon network. The current floor price is 0.149 $ETH (around $350). Owning a Genesis Chumbi offers additional rewards in Valley Adventures and in the upcoming RPG, Chumbi Valley, which is set to launch in beta later this year.
