Pengu Wonderland Arrives in LOL Land

Inside LOL Land, YGG Play and Pudgy Penguins have revealed a new board with an Asian flair, called Pengu Wonderland, which was developed in collaboration with Pengu Asia, the APAC Pudgy Penguin community. Yield Guild Games (YGG), the most active web3 organization in Southeast Asia, and Igloo APAC, the regional division of Igloo Inc., the company that owns Pudgy Penguins, are working together on this project.

The browser-based web3 game LOL Land, which includes Pengu Wonderland, is designed for players seeking short bursts of light enjoyment. These players—referred to by YGG as "Casual Degens"—enjoy brief sessions while monitoring the market or searching for the next memecoin. August 21 at 3:00 PM SGT marked the launch of the updated map. It presents well-known landmarks from all throughout Asia, including the traditional Philippine jeepney, Taipei 101, Shanghai TV Tower, Ben Thanh Market, HSBC Building, Petronas Towers, and Merlion.

The new board has characters based on real Pudgy Penguins NFT holders in Asia. YGG Play used Igloo's OverpassIP licensing mechanism to license 15 Lil Pudgys and 5 Pudgy Penguins. Owners like Brian (#6300), Kinglongwu (#652), and Swam (#2637) now view NFTs as in-game characters.

According to YGG co-founder Gabby Dizon, community members find it thrilling to watch their NFTs come to life in LOL Land. Additionally, he mentioned that OverpassIP licensing enables owners to profit from the use of their intellectual property. According to Igloo APAC President Cheryl Law, Pengu Wonderland honors both groups and highlights Asian culture. Igloo APAC CEO Aaron Teng sees this release as only the beginning of many gaming initiatives throughout Asia.

LOL Land: The Game

LOL Land launched in May under YGG Play, the publishing branch of Yield Guild Games. It runs fully on Abstract Chain, a blockchain built by Igloo Inc. with social logins, passkeys, and smooth rollouts. The chain also supports the Pudgy Penguins ecosystem.

The game feels like a digital board game. Players roll dice, move across maps, earn points, and unlock rewards in the form of tokens and NFTs. Two play modes exist. Free mode lets anyone join without a wallet but excludes token rewards. Premium mode allows you to use NFTs, buy rolls, and win $YGG tokens, which are the guild's native currency.

At launch, four maps were available: YGG City, Carnival, Beach Day, and Ice World Wonderland. The Ice World map already featured licensed Pudgy figures in the early phases of this partnership. With the help of a $10 million YGG token prize fund, LOL Land quickly gained popularity among players. In July 2025, there were 69,000 daily active users and 631,000 monthly active users of the game. Each paying participant spent an average of $434.

Launch Event in Bali

In Bali, YGG Play and Pengu Asia are hosting a live event to celebrate the most recent release at Coinfest Asia 2025. The purpose of "LOL Land Launch Party: Pengu Villa Takeover" is to provide a single night of celebration. It includes live challenges, unique products, and shocking disclosures.

For those who are already attending the crypto conference, the party will be private because it is limited to 150 invited guests. Stronger links between the local crypto and gaming communities are strengthened by the event.

Igloo's licensing platform, OverpassIP, is utilized by Pengu Wonderland. With the use of this tool, NFT holders can authorize the use of their characters in other projects. Avatars, assets, and characters on the board are what this signifies in LOL Land.

All three pieces of the puzzle—LOL Land, YGG Play, and Pudgy Penguins—are supported by Abstract Chain. The network was designed to make entry into web3 gaming easier for casual players. Features like social logins allow players to focus on the game instead of complex wallet setups.

YGG Play is also expanding as a publisher. Earlier this month, the team signed its first third-party title, Gigaverse, an onchain RPG by GLHF. Gigaverse generates more than $6 million in yearly revenue without large ad budgets or investor backing.

As part of the deal, Gigaland, a new board, was added to LOL Land. At the same time, Gigaverse introduced LOL-themed skins. Both titles run on Abstract Chain, which makes cross-play and shared experiences more natural for players.
