Big Summer Updates for Otherside
Yuga Labs just revealed what’s next for Otherside. Starting in July, the metaverse game will roll out new tools, new games, and some big changes. These updates are meant to support creators, bring fresh ways to play, and prepare for bigger events coming later this year. Let’s break it down.
A big new feature is the AI-powered building tool. It lets you create your own 3D worlds by typing simple commands. No need to write code. The tool is part of the Otherside Development Kit and uses an AI agent called Koda Agent. You can type things like “add mountains” or “make the sky purple,” and the world will change.
This is a game-changer for new builders. In July, Yuga will also unlock almost 1,000 assets from 29 Otherdeed Biomes. You can use them to build your own unique scenes. Everything stays inside Otherside.
Three New Games Coming This Summer
Three new experiences are coming soon. All of them use the ODK and are meant to get players more involved.

The first is Bathroom Blitz. It’s a fast-paced 8v8 shooter set inside the Bored Ape bathroom. It was created by a team called Command Line. This mini-game will only be live for a short time, so feedback can be collected. Players will also earn Voyager XP, which tracks your progress across Otherside.
Later in July comes Meet Me at the Clubhouse. This is a social hangout in the upgraded Bubbles area. It now fits 500 players at once. You can also invite friends using a direct link. That’s perfect for streamers, events, or hangouts.

In August, Otherside Outbreak arrives. This one is built to test how well the world runs with many users online at once. It’s another long-term experience and will also earn you more XP.
Otherside is a metaverse game built by Yuga Labs. These are the same people behind Bored Ape Yacht Club. In this world, you explore as a 3D avatar and interact with NFTs. You can play as Apes, Mutants, Meebits, or Kodas.
Land in the game is sold as NFTs called Otherdeeds. Some lands are just for building. Some include rare characters. $APE is the currency used across Otherside. It also supports common token types like ERC-20, 721, and 1155.
Otherside runs on ApeChain. This lets you do things like craft, trade, and build right onchain.
You don’t need to be a developer to make things in Otherside. Otherdeed holders will get easy tools to create graffiti stickers, emotes, and more. These tools are protected by royalties. This means creators can earn from their work and still keep ownership.
Shifting Focus to Otherside and BAYC
Yuga Labs has made big changes this year. In February, it sold the Meebits IP. In May, it handed CryptoPunks over to a digital art nonprofit. It also sold Moonbirds, Mythics, and Oddities to Orange Cap Games.
All these moves show a clear focus. The team is putting its energy into two main things: Otherside and BAYC.
Otherside launched in April 2022 with a land sale. It sold 55,000 Otherdeeds at 305 $APE each. The sale was huge. It clogged Ethereum and caused high gas fees. Yuga ended up refunding over 90 ETH to users.

The next step was First Trip, a tech demo for landholders. Then came the Second Trip in March 2023. This version added multiplayer gameplay. Later, Yuga partnered with Improbable to improve game servers and avatars.
In February 2025, the team ran Project Dragon, a giant shooter test. Over 2,100 people joined the same server. That broke a Guinness World Record. It also proved the tech could handle large-scale play.
Later this year, Yuga will launch Voyager 2.0 and unlock more features for Otherdeed holders. In 2026, a new system called Resources will arrive. This could bring new gameplay like land production, crafting, and an open economy.
