Nexon Takes a New Step with Credit Level System

Nexon and its web3 team, Nexpace, introduced a new Credit Level System for MapleStory N and the larger MapleStory Universe. This move comes after the company noticed that banning wallets didn’t stop bots. Players could just create new wallets and continue their actions. To handle this issue, Nexon decided to add wallet requirements that make it harder for bad actors to return.

All new wallets, and older ones that haven’t played MapleStory N or are currently restricted, now start at Credit Level 0. Wallets at this level can still access the MapleStory Universe marketplace. However, they cannot play MapleStory N unless they meet a new rule.

To unlock gameplay, these wallets must hold at least 10 NXPC tokens on the Henesys blockchain. This is the basic requirement to move up from Level 0. The token holding adds a cost. It helps block bot networks from running hundreds of accounts for free.

Holding 10 NXPC tokens equals about $9. This is not a huge amount for regular players using one wallet. For bot networks, though, the cost adds up quickly. Nexon is using this simple cost barrier to discourage mass botting.

For players who want full access without the need to hold tokens, there's another way. If they complete Know Your Customer (KYC) verification, their account is upgraded to Credit Level 2. This level gives permanent access to all services in the MapleStory Universe. No token holding required.

Extra Rules on Moving Tokens and Currency

Nexon also put in new rules for the Swap&Warp function. This feature lets players move NXPC tokens between the Henesys blockchain and the Avalanche C-Chain. It also allows players to convert NESO, the in-game currency, into NXPC. Now, only verified accounts can use Swap&Warp. This move blocks suspicious wallets from shifting tokens around too easily.

For older players who created their wallets before June 25, 2025, and already played MapleStory N, there’s a temporary status. These users get Credit Level 1. With this status, they can keep using all services for now. Nexon will continue to review their access and may adjust things later.

Credit Levels are given based on the best requirement met. So if a player verifies with KYC, they don’t need to hold tokens. It’s a simple system that rewards trust and makes gameplay smoother for verified users.
