Introduction To The Last Odyssey
Last Odyssey is a blockchain game developed by Mugen Interactive. It blends AI-powered MMORTS mechanics with features from web3 and traditional 4X strategy games. The result is a “5X” GameFi title built around explore, expand, exploit, exterminate, and exchange.
The game is set in a 3D isometric fantasy world called Middangeard. Players build kingdoms, recruit heroes, and lead armies into large-scale battles. You can expand your territory, form alliances, and compete for dominance.
Mugen Interactive, also known for Legend of Arcadia, developed Last Odyssey with backing from Animoca Brands, OKX Ventures, and Everest Ventures Group. The first beta test was held in April 2025 on Android and iOS, where players earned $ODY tokens and NFTs through in-game activities. The TGE dates for $ODY and $WAR are not yet confirmed.
What’s New in Open Beta Test 2.0?
The upcoming Open Beta Test 2.0 brings a major addition called Sanctuary War. This feature introduces a new on-chain meta game map where alliances compete for Sanctuaries across Middangeard.
There are 96 Sanctuaries on the map, each located near war zones and choke points known as Passes. Holding a Sanctuary provides rewards, buffs, and strategic advantages. Passes hold less in-game reward value but are key for moving into new regions. Capturing them opens paths to Fortresses, Sanctuaries, and eventually the Throne.
Alliances must coordinate to control these areas and unlock greater rewards. Sanctuary control adds depth to both the strategy and community-driven elements of Last Odyssey.
Alongside gameplay rewards, Mugen Interactive is adding a brand exposure layer through Sanctuary NFTs. These ERC-721 assets represent permanent billboards on the world map. Holders can place logos, banners, and links visible at all times, regardless of which alliance controls the territory.

There are only 96 Sanctuary NFTs, and they cannot be traded. Ownership is limited to official partners or players who win them through an airdrop. Holders also receive exclusive weekly rewards, full customization options, and additional benefits for their communities.
Regular alliances that capture a Sanctuary still get temporary billboard access. However, their billboards disappear once another group takes over the area. This distinction makes Sanctuary NFTs valuable for long-term visibility.
Last Odyssey’s second beta introduces three reward systems: First-Occupation, Universal, and Duration rewards.

The First-Occupation Reward goes to the first alliance that captures each Sanctuary. These rewards include tokens and NFTs from partnered projects such as $1,000 worth of $RON from Ronin, Gacha Ball NFTs from Legend of Arcadia, and unique items from Apeiron, Puffverse, Wild Forest, and more.

The Universal Reward benefits all players on the server. Each time a Sanctuary is captured, a redeem code is released for everyone to claim, offering in-game items and resources.
The Duration Reward is given to the alliance leader who holds a Sanctuary the longest during the event. This is described as highly prestigious and will include $ODY tokens.
How to Pre-Register
To join Open Beta Test 2.0, players need to pre-register through the official Last Odyssey website. The steps are simple: connect your crypto wallet via Ronin, link your X account, follow the official profile, and submit your email to receive a verification code.
Completing pre-registration unlocks a Starter Pack with Priest’s Holy Water, training speed-ups, and Vitality items. Players can also invite friends through referral links to collect extra rewards.
Pre-registering helps players gain an early advantage. The Starter Pack boosts progression, making it easier to prepare for alliance battles once the beta launches on October 16.
Final Thoughts
Last Odyssey’s Open Beta Test 2.0 adds significant new features that focus on strategy, alliances, and community-driven rewards. Sanctuary War will test teamwork as well as battlefield tactics. On top of gameplay benefits, Sanctuary NFTs add another layer of engagement by connecting brand exposure with territorial control.
With a wide range of rewards and simple pre-registration steps, players who join now will be better prepared when the servers open. For anyone interested in crypto-powered strategy games, Last Odyssey’s upcoming beta could be a key moment to jump in.
